This beer is a balanced showcase of the majestic hop specie, in Latin, Humulus Lupulus, which translates “Wolf Among Weeds”. It’s our celebration of California’s enthusiasm for hop-forward IPAs. At 8%, Wolf will sneak up on you from behind the robust citrus and dank earthy hop notes mirrored in its aroma and flavour profile.

Can from The Wine Emporium 170814. Great can and great beer in it. Passionfruit in both the aroma and flavour - nice.

Can from mane liquor. Pours a dark golden with firm white head. Nose shows sweet and sticky fruit. Mango and apricot with slight pine. Taste is grassy, with sweet fruit and some pine. Spritzy citrus finish too. Very drinkable ipa. 8% ABV well hidden too. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a pastel, sandy gold and opaque with a thinning, soppy white pad that manages a little lace. Nose yields notes of passionfruit, lychee and pineapple with hints of herbaceous, piney and weedy hops, and just a lick of citrus cleanser that is unshakable. Tangy, fruit juice dominates the palate but is ill-defined. Body is light and the alcohol has a heat to it that roughens up the finish. Hops are weak and drowned by the fruit esters. Carbonation is soft with a mostly dry finish. Grapefruit, peach and apricot conserve sums it up. Really one dimensional in the broad scheme of things. Not bad, just not exciting either. (50cL, canned 18/04/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2014 Can from Mane Liquor. Pours clear orange with a small white head which is quite sticky. Nose is very sweet - full of dank, apricot, mint and lychee with mildly fresh cut grass. Taste is full of lychee and clean cut grass with more sweet tropical juiciness throughout. Almost bright lime citrus. Nice aggressive bitterness to finish it off which I really like. Vibrant stuff. It really has a big whack of sweetness to it but it kind of works nicely with the astringent bitterness. Tasty stuff

My favorite of the Golden Road beers. Good IPA, a bit light on the hops but has a full profile.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours golden with a thick off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with lots of hop bitterness. Nice.

Can shared in London - thanks to Caspar. Pours clear yellow with a creamy white head. Pleasant nose, rich citrus, melon and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with moderate bitter grass, pine, some white sugar, oil. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, oily and resinous, moderately sweet, more ripe citrus, melon. Solid.

Can thanks to Caspar. It pours pale gold with a decent white head. The nose is fresh tropical fruits, citrus, toasted grain, grass and white bread. The taste is bitter, piney, resin, varnish, icing sugar, some alcohol, citrus rind, creamy and toasty grass with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Wittales (633) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 9, 2014
Appearance was clear orangish gold with lasting creamy white 1 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are soft sweet malts, tropical, citrus and stone fruit with hints of pine, no alcohol. Taste are orange, lemon, peach, guava and melon with middle malt sweetness and pine. Palate was creamy smooth CO2 with medium body, then lasting well balanced smooth bitter finish. A good solid DIPA from LA.
