This beer is a balanced showcase of the majestic hop specie, in Latin, Humulus Lupulus, which translates “Wolf Among Weeds”. It’s our celebration of California’s enthusiasm for hop-forward IPAs. At 8%, Wolf will sneak up on you from behind the robust citrus and dank earthy hop notes mirrored in its aroma and flavour profile.

Golden pour with thick soapy head. Very resinous smelling(canned 5-1-13) notes of vanilla and grapefruit citrus. Taste is more malt forward but ends with nice refreshing bitter hops lemony zing.

On tap @ Surfside Tap Room. Golden orange glowing pour with a slick of white foam. Resinous pine with complimentary bitterness and bready malt in the aroma. Taste is aggressive but not overly played bitterness with sharp pine (perhaps some citrus) and a mellow amalgamation of bready/sweet malt. Coating mouthfeel. I’ve passed up out of date cans of this beer for two years and after finally having it fresh I’m glad I did. Very good IIPA.

Very good overall IPA. Earthy, piney notes with hints of citrus. Don’t notice as much of a fruity aroma/taste to this beer. Still Very tasty, just not quite as distinguishable as I expected.

Can Pour @ Hopgeist. Light yellow amber color, very mild lace. Hoppy aroma, with an interestingly smoky hop flavor. Light body but still a bit sticky.

Can thanks to Jess. Nose is very danky and earthy with just a bit of citrus. Pour is mostly clear, yellow, with a medium white head that laces well and is a bit rocky. Taste is initially bitter then fades quickly to a well balanced malt with a moderate hop flavor. hop flavor is a bit grassy, but shows off some citrus as well; otherwise it is mostly earthy. hop bitterness comes back in the finish to dry it out a bit. little to no sign of alcohol. pretty tasty.

A surprisingly see-through beer with little head. A decent hop aroma. This is a pretty tasty beer. A decent hop character, this is better than it looks.

16 oz can dated 7.29.2014. Pours hazy gold with ample whitehead. Spicy hops, earth and caramel. Light citrus. Toast and biscuit. Taste: starts lightly sweet, loads of caramel; big citrus bitter finish. Full- body, average carbonation, slick oily texture. Overall: a bit past its prime, but still decent.

Taster from 16 oz can at Hopgeist 2014. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma is a great mix of citrus, tropical fruits and some backing malts. The flavor is good and very similar to the nose, but not as strong, citrus, tropical fruits, mild toasted, moderate bitterness.
