This beer is a balanced showcase of the majestic hop specie, in Latin, Humulus Lupulus, which translates “Wolf Among Weeds”. It’s our celebration of California’s enthusiasm for hop-forward IPAs. At 8%, Wolf will sneak up on you from behind the robust citrus and dank earthy hop notes mirrored in its aroma and flavour profile.

Golden pour with thick soapy head. Very resinous smelling(canned 5-1-13) notes of vanilla and grapefruit citrus. Taste is more malt forward but ends with nice refreshing bitter hops lemony zing.

Pours a clear and light yellow with light white head. A strong floral hop, pine and citrus aroma. A strong citrus and floral hop taste with pine, grains, and some tropical fruit. A mild bitter hop aftertaste.

High hopes were dashed the minute i cracked the can and sniffed the beer. The aroma is almost strictly grass with medicinal/astringent notes. The flavor follows and is really not enjoyable at all. Astringency and harsh bitterness vaguely resembling grapefruit dominate the hop ellement. The malt adds an unfortunate sweetness/booziness to the finish. The only solid aspect is the body and carbonation are spot on. This can was labelled as being canned within three weeks of when i purchased and sampled.

On tap at 40 Brews. It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was of apricots, peaches and citrus. The taste was similar to the aroma with more resinous hops, some stone fruits and lots of bitterness in the finish. Good stuff.

Lightly hazy golden from a can. Notes of grain. light hops, pine, and tropical fruit. Light to medium body. Pretty drinkable at the 8 percent. Better than heady topper but I know that isn’t saying much. Still prefer the Wolf Pup

Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a big foamy white head. Crisp, tart, sweet citrus aroma. Very smooth and light for a DIPA. Nice lingering flavors. Not harsh or bitter. Very enjoyable.

Poured from 2 tall boy cans bought at the foodery in Philly shipped home in my luggage. This one is slightly hazy amber, spicy, gritty, really dry in a good way, sorta lemony, and strong (in ABV not in taste) Since I transported this 1/3 of the way back to where it was made I’m hoping I can find this in Chicago.

A solid combination of a number of different hops styles. Piney aroma with some pronounced grapefruitiness and musty grass aroma. Tried at the Great Nebraska Beerfest with Jess in 2016.
