3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Relatively mild, malty double IPA. Hops are mostly citrus, but quite a bit more restrained than I would prefer. Solid mouthfeel, otherwise just OK.

Although this is a wonderful colour of piss, piss it is not - an excellent fruit-salad-y APA with a tinge of herbaceousness - malt in the back seat but well balanced - alcohol invisible - super easy to smash - malt gives a lot of sweetness which is the only detractor for me as I prefer more bitterness than sweetness. A damn fine drink.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
4 pack of pints in cans for $10 from Costco. Pours light golden, clear, small but thick white head. Smells pretty good - typical IPA stuff...muted pineapple, peach, pine tree. Taste starts a little like a belgian - grassy, bready, but then the aftertaste kicks in. Good sticky dank IPA but then goes to a bitter, chemical like after aftertaste. Medium to thin body, lightly carbonated - actually drinkable. Alcohol @ 8% is hidden like good IPAs, just the bitter, aftertaste is a little nasty and doesn’t go away quickly. Good, not great (or different) LA IPA/DIPA.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a bad first impression from Golden Road, but there are a lot of IPAs out there, and most of them are better than this attempt. Nice hops choice, but it doesn’t come together for me. 16oz cans (please keep in mind, always, that LA is a hell hole, thank you)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a finger and half of head on a clear light straw body.
The aroma is bright citrus with an earthy background.
The taste is moderate lemon and grapefruit bitterness, a little sweet note, then dank pine finish.
The texture is thicker.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can clear nice head. Light hops and sweet malts flavor is fair with nice balance of malt and hops but slightly sweet.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a 500ml can on 21/12/2015. Pours a light golden/yellow with a small head. The nose is sweet malt and tropical fruit. There’s lots of sweet tropical and stone fruit up front (apricot peach, mango and pineapple), with a pretty firm, somewhat tart, lemon and rapefruit bitterness countering. Caramel and biscuity malt sit in the background, with a very mild warm spiciness completing the picture. Almost light bodied with slightly fizzy carbonation. It’s certainly not without its charms, but for mine, it’s a bit too messy and rough to be considered top flight.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from the pint can into an English pint glass. Golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is bready malt with an array of hops - citrus, resinous, and pine notes. Flavor is similar with predominantly citrusy hop notes. Medium bodied. Very drinkable for the ABV but a little one note.

Even the aroma is resinous as notes of pine, apricot, spices and something I’m calling tomato (!) rise from the glass. The resin combines with pine, spearmint and lychee upon tasting. The alcohol is not well hidden, leaving a very hot aftertaste in the mouth. PET bottle from Tru Bru.
