UPDATED: OCT 9, 2010 On gravity at the Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival, 10/06/10. Deep gold in colour with a slight white head. Fruity aroma of apricots and hay. Flavour of biscuit malts and more fruit leading to a decent bitter finish. Ok [3.1]. Re-rate at the Three Tuns, Bristol 8/10/10. Darker coloured this time, being a middling amber. Fruit was more plummy this time, with the beer having decent, chewy malts and a long bitter finish. [3.3].

Cask (handpump) @ Southampton Arms, 139 Highgate Road, London, Greater London England NW5 1LE.

Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, toffee notes, light to moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101203]

Cask (handpump) at the Southampton Arms on 3 December 2010. The commercial description say "traditional old fashioned ale" and that’s a pretty accurate description, Not a bad one though. Amber colour. Not much condition. No head. Lots of earthy bitterness. Light borderline astringent twist on the finish. Very drinkable.

Cask, handpump at The Tram, Eardisley, Herefordshire, 10.09.10 I thought this looked more light/mid amber than gold but there was a white head, decent clarity also. Tasty bitter, in fact really nice I had four pints, fruity with a good bitterness, little drying, but just damn tasty. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
