Decent warmer, had better but also had worse. Not too distinct, but they didn’t go overboard on the sweet.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Livid (49) - - JAN 25, 2012
22oz bottle. Pours a dark, slightly hazy copper color with a meager head. Funky nose, smells tangy and faintly of caramel and molasses. Thin body for a bigger beer. Apricot flavors, caramel, toffee, and a tang that I can almost describe as salty. Interesting and complex, but much better on draft at the brewery.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cmonster (897) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Bomber served in a tulip. Pours hazy orange-brown with minimal head. Nice aroma of brown sugar, dates, caramel and earthy funk. Sweet flavor. Medium body, smooth texture, low carbonation, and a malty finish.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Alphadelic (1630) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 24, 2011
A rich and festive red ale. A stiff and robust nose. In the mouth it is sweet, strong and full of fruit. Long and rosy in the finish. Sleek and a little oily. Definitely warming, caramelly and intensely fruity. Similar to some barley-wines.

Traded bottle. Pours a nice, clear copper color with a medium khaki head. The light aroma is oranges and pink grapefruit hops, very much Pacific NW. Surprisingly enough the hops don’t dominate the flavor. The richer malt really shows here. I think it’s good but possibly a little disjointed.

Dark caramel ruby, small pale sandy head, looked flat until i aggressively poured it. Earthy caramel, young oak aroma. Silky smooth, tannic caramel medium body, kind of works, at times seems combative. Stemmy wood, little pine edge. Enjoyed more with each sip.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 dkingsella (152) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 23, 2010
Sampled ’07 vintage at Bailey’s Taproom CellarFest (2010). Decent enough beer, but a bit disappointing. Pretty balanced...a little on the sweet side. I actually like the beer a bit better now reading that it is an English Strong Ale as I was told it was a Barleywine before I drank it. Definitely a better Strong Ale than a BW ;-)

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Johns Market Place in Portland, OR. Pours a clear copper amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of caramel malt, a hint of cherry, candi sugar, and mild spice. Taste is medium bodied, soft carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, candi sugar, a hint of leather, and some raisins. Finish is semi-sweet with some alcohol warmth, brown sugar and a raisin aftertaste.
