The color is dark amber and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of biscuit, apple and malt. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of biscuit, fruit/apple, malt and the finish is dry. It’s seems to be oxidized.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, caramel, keller, light roasted, molasses notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration,sweet malt, malty, bread notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110504]

Clear amber with a medium off white head. Aroma had toasted malt, caramel and hints of hops. Flavour had toasted malt, caramel and vague grassy hops. Finished somewhat dry.

Bottle, from brewery. Copper color with really thick head. Caramel and butter aroma. Some strange soda/lemon-lime aromas here too that are totally out of place. Slick oily palate. Cookies in the flavors. Not wholly bad but way too much butter.

Bright copper. Thick head. Malty, with a slightly caramelly nose. Firm, malty palate, again with a caramel accent, maybe turning a bit too much to butter as it warms.

Bottle, 5.3% bought at the brewery. Rough rotten aroma. Clear grey amber colour. Small off-white head. The flavour is nicely malty, faint brown sugar notes, caramel. The finish is OK bitter, quite clean. Smells bad, but tastes OK. 4 3 6 3 12

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2008 Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Reddish golden, average head. Light aroma of butter and roasty malt. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel, notes of caramel and apples. Low bitterness. Not the most exciting Franconian beer ever. (5/3/6/2/10 = 2.6)
Re-rate draught at the brewpub. Clear amber, rich firm head. Roasty perfumy and cellary. Medium bodied aromatic and fresh. Soft and pleasant with grassy bitter finish. Amazing how serving it from barrel lifted the character!

Bottled. A nut brown beer, very dark for the style, with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty, leading to a slightly bitter finish. OK, but a bit boring.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized, almost white foamy head. Sweet, slightly toasted cara-malty nose with a shy whiff of hops. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly toasted malty taste with notes of caramel; medium-dry, slightly bitter finish with a restrained hops character. This one is more a Landbier than an Export; quite pleasant to drink.
