At Gollem 1, Amsterdam. Opaque, juicy orange. Soapy ring head. Ok grassy hop aroma. Clean, mild citrus fruit, a little astringency. OK bitter.

Drank this under label ’Jack’s Precious IPA’, ratebeer tells me it’s the same beer. Gollem has a bar in the same city where I drank Jack’s, so that would make sense. Rating might go up as soon as I try a second one, we thought we got the last 2 glasses the bartender was able to squeeze out of the barrel. My beer tasted even more bitter than my friend’s, so it must have been bottoming out. Good beer nonetheless, it was extremely agressive, but I like bitter. It was also completely opaque, which was fascinating but odd for an IPA. Could all be due to basically drinking pure residue. Tonight I’m going back to that bar, it can only get better from here. Taste deScription will follow as soon as I had a second glass.

Faint smell and taste of hops. In other words not very ipa-ish. More like a wheat beer with some hoppy-ness

Very murky, large cappuccino like head. Amazingly nice fermentation aromas, balancing and being awesome together with modern hops. One thebthe most pillowy heads, like typically only find on Czech lagers. Yummy yummy juicy bitterness. Wow, honestly very impressive beer! (On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas)

From tap at Café Gollem Raamsteeg, Amsterdam. Aroma is grassy, yeast, fruits, pale malt, grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. A very fine Belgian-style IPA.

Tap at Gollem, Antwerp. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is dry yeast, zesty lemon citrus, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big wood resin hop light toothpaste bitter, light citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A really juicy IPA.

Poured from keg at Priory Arms, South Lambeth. Remaining white head, fair lacing, hazy apricot coloured body. Dusty hops with citric hints on the nose. Sappy taste of mango, orange and peach. Rounded fruity ending with smooth bitterness. Well bodied. Pleasant (London 29.11.2015).

Fra keg på Priory Arms Stockwell 29 Nov 15. Aprikosfarget. Lavt skum. Beskjeden fruktaroma. Smaken er mørk frukt. Litt syrlig etter hvert.

On tap at Gollem Amstelstraat. Hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, creamy, slowly diminishing, tan to white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy aroma of lemon, passion fruity and tangerine. Slightly bitter, citrusy-grassy taste of lemon, mango and pineapple, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, flat. Quite nice, less hoppy and creamier than expected, but very refreshing. Good!
