Bought at the brewery. Label says brewed by Göller in Zeil am Main. Dark brown color. Malt and caramel aroma and flavor. Sweet with chichory and leak. Bitter aftertaste, but hardly hop-related. Not my favorite dunkel.

Mug at the brewery in Drosendorf. Crisp, wet, and grassy corn along with sweet caramel candy flavor throughout. Crisp vegetal sweet malt flavor, not really hoppy at all, but malt-centered and sweet and twangy. Light bread and tart corn husk at times. Okay overall but not really that exciting.

Bottle (from Vroni’s): Amber coloured, firm brownish, medium sized head; clear dry malty nose, supported by some traces of floral hoppiness; starts slightly sweetish; nutty, light dry taste leading to a light distinctive finish (some hints of chocolate); very smooth, well rounded; extremely well quaffable!

Tap, at the brewpub. Jan 2005. Amber, good white head and moderate condition. Malty nose with a hint of sulphur, sweet fruity malt and yeast in the mouth and a gentle hop bitter finish.
