Draught at the brewpub. Mild flowery aroma. Almost clear golden colour. Small white head. Mildly sweet flavour, slightly flowery. Mild, but flavourful.

Draught at the brewery: Rufous with a yellowish sheen. Dirty, sulfury, oddly tangy and vegetal with some unripe banana. Faint zippy hop spice and earthy breadcrust-tinged malt lurks beneath. Silky big-bubbled carbonation. Minerally and spicily bitter though the bitterness steers toward unclean with a leafy tealike astringency. There is some perceptible crispness to the malt, though much of it is lost within the body’s slickness. Strikingly muddled and poorly attenuated. Some grainy malt rigidness is apparent as well. Finishes bitterly malty with fuzzy hops and a creeping overripe fruit twang. This comes off as an ale, and a horribly brewed one, at that. A deplorable example of Franconian craftsmanship.

Swing-top. Malty nose a little low on the intensity, has a nice cool minty touch. Pours a clear golden with a soapy white head. Taste is bittersweet and pleasant with nice toasted grains and a subtle nuttiness, and there’s this not-so-subtle kitchen garden floral quality that approaches the nearly cloy-ey (and worty) malt. Aftertaste is sweet malt fading to sticky light acidity ... can’t say I enjoy. Light-medium sticky body.

Hazy tan. Only a shade dark than the Lagerbier. Earthy toasty breadcrusty aroma is fresh and appetizing. Fresh - the toasty/bready components are more subdued but a breadcrusty character comes out a bit.

Draft @ brewery. Bright dark gold with white, lasting head. Fresh balanced aroma has wort, grass, and fruity hops. The flavors are similar. This one is pretty light bodied but has a nice malt backbone. Lots of floral overtones. Dry finish. Nice beer, it doesn’t shine necessarily but it’s solid and good.

(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, orange golden colour with a thick and slightly off-white foamy head. Delicately sweet cara-malty nose with notes of bread, a tinge of oak-honey and light herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour; pale and cara-malty, bready taste with shy herbal notes; light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Rather dry, bitter and slightly sweet finish and a shy but present hoppy touch. (24.X.08).

pivnizub (7239) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUN 20, 2005
Bottle (bought at Vroni’s, Bamberg): Dark golden coloured, thin, long lasting white head; Aroma: Mild floral hoppiness, some resin; sweet malty start; smooth, medium bodied; sweetish (malty) taste, becoming dryer and hoppier towards the finish; lasting, herbal spicy aftertaste. Well balanced, a goody.........
