COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Siehe Hausbrauertermine! Stammwürze: 11,2 Gewichtsprozente

Very pale colored. Malty aroma, just a bit of a barnyard smell. Malt, rancid butter. A light but almost oily hopbitterness. Lasting aftertaste with an almost earthy hoppiness. Not a prize winner.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2011
8/11/11/11/10/11

Bottle. Lemon, hay, and barley malt aroma. Clear pale yellow color with large white head and nice lacing. Sweet barley malt and light lemon flavor with a funky bitter vegetal finish. Okay but not a fan of the finish.

Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - OCT 24, 2010
500 ml bottle in Germany. Is a pale yellow pour with a full very nice lacy head. Aroma is earthy, hay, straw and vegtables. Avery different beer taste much as the aroma but almost with a mushroom like flavor in it as well. Palate is soft with a slight bitter ending. Reminds me of some of the older Zogel beerss but more refined. Which can be a minus I should think.

Bottled as Zum Alten Freyung Hausbrauerbier. A golden beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of straw, while the flavor is sweet malty with light notes of honey.

MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 24, 2008
(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a mid-sized blond foamy head. A bit dusty, grassy and slightly herbal hoppy nose with a tinge of citrus on a light-sweet grainy background. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate, slightly crispy carbonation. Slim malty and soft grainy base, moderately hoppy taste, dry and slim, slightly bitter and minimal tart finish with grassy and herbal hops. At least a nice thirst-quencher (23.02.08).

Bottle: Pale golden, visible carbonation, smaller but stable white head; pale-malty and grainy nose, mixed with impressions of aromatic hops; solid, a bit dryish, bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; lingering bitter-sweet finish with a light lemony-hoppy touch. Very spicy for abeer of 4.3%......

Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 1, 2007
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of nicolascage. On the label this is called: "Zum Alten Freyung Hausbrauerbier". Clear, pale golden with a dense, lively, white head. Sweetish malty nose with a floral touch. Fairly light in body with sweetish malt accents and again this flowery edge. Dry and hoppy finish. A fresh, crisp and clean beer. 201107
