Draft, Snallygaster. Large beige head with nice lacing atop dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, smoked caramel, bacon. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some smoke, smoked cheese and meat. Sticky light-medium body.

Bottle, enjoyed within the confines of friendship and the walls of the Hessen Haus.
Pours a dark amber color with a great head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is totally that sort of bacon/smoked meat thing. It’s got some fall leaves going on... it’s generally just rich, smoky, and aromatic. Totally inviting.

The flavor is fairly smoky/meaty, but is far less rich than the aroma lets on. It’s malty but not overly sweet and allows for some herbal hops to shine through.

Very drinkable!

Lekko wędzone piwo, w którym nic się nie dzieje. Z tego samego kraju jest schlenkerla, a przykładu z nich nie wzięli.

Bottle purchased in Portland, Maine. Dark brown color, tall lacing head that lasts some time. Good smoke aroma and good smoke flavor. I don’t think it is quite up to Schlenkerla or Spezial quality, but this is a good smoked beer.

500ml bottle (Birofilia2014, Zywiec)
Nice brown, small head. Sticky mashy starchy aroma. Sweet taste, same as the aroma - papery and starchy. Only gently smokey. A bit meh, to be honest. Palate is smooth.

500ml bottle. Clear copper color. Tiny yellow head, stays. Vinegar, sharp, sweet, punch in a face aroma. Smoked, caramel, grainy, candy notes in taste. Rubbery mouthfeel. Bland.

On tap at novare res. Amber with lasting head and lace. Meaty campfire smoke and caramel aroma. Mild smoke and whiskey caramel malts with very dry finish but missing noble hop presence. Medium light body. Very good.

Aroma: Beechwood smoked country ham with a maple glaze. Appearance: Hazy dark brown with a foamy tan head that settled into a thin skin. Flavor: Nose. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Pretty tasty stuff.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a transparent copper with very light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of mild malt, lager yeast, and smoke. Tastes like it smells with more of a smoked ham presence. Solid on the palate. A decent example of the style.

500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons, served in a goblet glass. Dark amber, pretty clear, with an average, creamy and moderately persistent light beige head. Pretty straightforward aroma, smoked meat, BBQ sauce chips, ash/campfire smoke, roasted malts, light dark spices, some toffee/caramel and a hint of bitter chocolate. Roasted and bitter upfront, notes of grassy and herbal hops, lingering caramel and coffee, just before e long, forever lasting smoky and meaty aftrtaste, quite powerful and persistent. Great drinkability. Average carbonation, light to medium body, oily texture. Not my favourite smoked beer, but very nice anyway.
