This may just be me, but I think this brew is terribly underscored. As a B’ham native it has always been my favorite GPBC product. Easy to find around the local area and a decent price. However, if you like your ales on the citrus or hoppy side, this beer is probably not for you. Nonetheless, give it a try. It is certainly unique for a brown ale.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2012 12 oz. can from The Fresh Market in Daphne. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of toast, banana but bread, leaves, almonds, and tobacco. Flavor of caramel, tobacco, banana but bread, cereal, dried fruits. Light-bodied, with modest carbonation and a leafy mouthfeel. Dry finish. Drinks better straight out of the can.

This brown was one of the hoppest browns I ever drank. Mostly hop in the nose with a nice roast / hop presence in the taste. I think it’s a good brew from Good People

Reddish-brown with an off-white head. It has a sweet, bread aroma that matches the taste. The medium body has a creamy texture, average carbonation, and a dry finish.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
20120826 12oz can from Stem and Stein in Madison, AL. Muddy medium brown with small tan head. Aroma is cider and pennies, with some black tea and salty pretzel. The can was coated with a sticky goo near the top, which I assumed is not a great sign. Thin bodied and evenly though barely carbonated. Astringent burnt bread notes and some leaf mold. Generally unpleasant. Well, it’s at least another humorous can from the good people at Good People. Luckily, Alabama is now thriving with other new and delicious brews.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Pours a dark brown color with a medium off-white head. Smell is a decent hop aroma with toasted caramel malts. The flavor is a hop forward brown with nice bitterness and citrus with the caramel, nuttiness and light cocoa. Great for style.
