This deep colored American Brown Ale is often requested and one of our personal favorites. Many a weekend was spent perfecting this one. Brewed with 2 - row pale and 5 specialty malts, its malty in both flavor and smell. A heap of Cascade and Willamette add to balance this easy drinking ale. Hole up, have a few, and tell us what you think. Weíre bettings itís the best American Brown Ale youíll ever have.

Pours a very light brown, with red hues. A Frothy tan head adorns. Aroma has a bit of leather, sweet nutty malts, a dash of lightly piney hops and a touch of brown sugar. Tastes of cocoa powder, slight coffee/toffee, leather, again with a sprinkling of hops for balance. Quite enjoyable. The feel is creamy on the palate, with an upper medium body. A hit it some areas, and less than fabulous in others, but all in all, itís a pretty good brown.

On tap at a restaurant in Tuscaloosa. Aroma is toffee, malt and a hint of spice. Rich and flavorful in the mouth with a nice malt/hop balance and just a hint of sweetness.

12oz can in trade from brentfeesh. Cheers, Brent! Pours a murky medium brown with a tan head. Nose is cocoa, hops, some tobacco, and some spice. Flavor is similar- it starts with cocoa then the hops come in, then there is some tobacco, then the hops remind you that they want attention, then the hops wind it out with some of the malts coming back to play. Interesting brown, dry finish and medium body.

Can. Deep clear brown with a mild malty and slightly nutty aroma. Very little head. Mild malt flavor with a slight sweetness and very little aftertaste. Smooth and fairly effervescent in the mouth. Nothing fancy, but a good solid brown ale. Kudos to Good People Brewing for using a six-pack ring that is made of an east to recycle plastic.

Tasted from a can at a tasting held in April 2011.
Aroma: acidity, slight malt, apple
Taste: earthy, nutty, slight tartness
Overall: I did not really care for this, I am pretty sure it had an infection.

12oz can -

Received via trade with farginbastige6! Awesome. Thank you sir! First, my opinion on a majority of brown ales is that it seems to be a throwaway style. Like brewers are forced to create this, a blonde, a hefe, a pale ale as their required brewering line-up. So rare is it that someone makes something thatís really enjoyable. This is one of those times where a brewer really makes ones thatís a stand-out amongst the pedestrian sea of brown ales.

The beer pours out a beautiful, milk chocolate brown body, murky with a thick, creamy, beige head which was long lasting and quite thick. Aroma is mostly made up of toffeeish-like malts. Flavor has some leafy-bitterness with a light sweetness to provide some balance. Finish is lightly bitter, quick and pleasant. Very nice beer.

Hazy red-amber, spotty white head with extensive lacing. Pineapple and mango nose, light cake and brown malt. Flavor has more hop at front, brown malt and sugar mid, finishes a bit leafy, barky, dry. Low carbonation, moderate body, citrus finish, a bit muted and contrasting in the flavor profile.

Can shared by GT2. Pours clear brown with an average, creamy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel and nutty malt, earthy and herbal hops with dark fruity esters. Flavor is medium malt, near balanced hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation.

can - liquor express - pours slightly cloudy reddish brown with not a lot of head. Aroma is piney with a touch of caramel. Taste is bitterer than I was expecting with a mildly dry finish. Decent brown ale.
