Brewed with 2 - row pale and 5 specialty malts, its malty in both flavor and smell. A heap of Cascade and Willamette add to balance this easy drinking ale. Hole up, have a few, and tell us what you think. Weíre bettings itís the best American Brown Ale youíll ever have.

12oz can, thanks to beerpig317. Hazy red brown color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good spread of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, dry finish. Some citrusy hop, nutty aroma, hints of chocolate. Light tart, moderate sweet, very light bitter. An ok brown ale.

12oz can. Muddy brown pour with a nice chunky head of white. Malty sweet aroma. Flavors are cleaned up by just a touch of American hops. Tasty.

Iím a lover of brown ales, and Iím not sure if itís due to the fact this was a canned version of this beer, but just not a very good beer. The aroma (malty as described) is very promising, but disappointed in everything else overall. I would like to think a tapped / bottled version of this beer would be better.

Big fan of this brown. The taste and aroma have a nice roasty/sour note. It's good year round but especially in the fall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reddish brown out of the can with a big foamy tan head. Sweet cereal malt nose. Strong roasted grain and some puffed cereal taste with a bit of tea, toast and a bit of spice. The hops bloom in the finish as a nice bitter balance. Nice example of a style that can be rather dull.

Can from Adam from trade. Pours dark reddish to brown color with a little light showing through and a one finger off white to light khaki head. Aroma of sweet malts, dark fruits, some light grassy hops, smells like a malty pale ale. Flavor is some bock late, dark fruit, a bit of lightly biting hop at the end. Then there's a strange heavy metallic finish that ruins what seems to be otherwise very nice flavors. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not bad.

Pours an appetizing chestnut with a thick golden-buff head that leaves good lacing.aroma delights with caramel, roast malt, molasses, and cloves notes. Lip-smacking flavor is a little sweet but not too much; notes of caramel, cloves, toasted malt, and a little molasses dance across the taste buds.smooth texture is firm and fairly lively. Good people brew good beer.

2011 backlog. 12oz can courtesy of jzzbassman. Thanks Monte! Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a huge head. It took almost 15 minutes for it to reside. The nose is roasted nuts, caramel and faint chocolate. The taste is the same with some citrus hops in the finish. Medium prickly mouthfeel due to the carbonation. Overall a nice beer. I was afraid of infection but there were no off flavors. 3.2

From a can. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a bubbly beige head. Smells like sweet, nutty caramel and cookie malt, raisins. Tastes like sour raisins, tangy nuts, malty, light dry hops.
