The Bearded Lady is a bit of a departure from the Good People norm. While most of our beers are robust, bold, and hoppy, the Bearded Lady is smooth and drinkable. Never fear, it still has the quality craftsmanship you expect from Good People. Our take on the Wheat Beer, a perennial favorite, we hope to have made a beer that is both flavorful and refreshing. The light body is complemented with just a hint of hops and just a twinge of tartness that give the Bearded Lady a subtle citrus flavor that leaves you wanting more. While we were not trying to reinvent the wheel or change the history of beer, we wanted to make a beer that was refreshing and highly drinkable for the warm Alabama summer, yet not sacrifice the integrity of anything with the Good People label. This is a beer we would be proud to hoist over our lawnmowers and say, “Today grass…you are mine!” With the Bearded Lady, we hope we have done just that. We hope you think so too.

Can. Very good American wheat, which means light, refreshing, and devoid of flavour. Clean and not super wheaty. Cloudy, as it should be.

From a 12 oz can at home. Pours a clear pale gold with an off white head. Light floral nose. Flavors of toast and lemon. Easy drinking, crisp finish.

On tap @ Good People. Lightly hazed golden pour with some white foam. It’s kind of lemony and a little bit tangy, which I kind of like to avoid in these typical brewpub wheat beers, but it’s alright, I guess. Decently citrusy and a touch of floral hops. Some wheat bread, a light cracker note, and minimal (if any) bitterness. Easy enough drinking, though.

Pours hazy, barely translucent golden with a thick and frothy eggshell head. Wheaty aroma has yeasty and citrus hints. Wheaty flavor has a grassy undertone, not amazing but refreshing. Texture has average fizz and body, but still pleases. Beard me!
