I don’t usually enjoy chile flavored beers, but this one is different. The beer is conditioned with smoked anchos and cayenne. They provide a little bit of heat, and a lot of smokiness that really complements the semi-sweet chocolate malt character. I can’t wait until next year’s chili cook off!

Tap @ the 1st Annual Rocket City Brewfest. Brown Ale w/ smoked ancho chilis. Clear medium brown pour, thin white head. Toasted malt aroma. No scent of smoke or pepper? Flavor is of watery toasted malt. Very light tingle on the palate. Light bodied. Could have been a bit spicier. I guess I was looking for a bite like the Rogue Chipotle. Overall, still a damn good brew. p.s. I feel the heat now, it kinda crept up on me. That’s better.
