Big coffee flavors dominate early only to be wiped out by an enormous about of Willamette hop flavors. One of GPBC’s most requested beers. Complex and full of flavor yet amazingly sessionable. Brewed with coffee from Primavera Coffee Roasters here in Birmingham, AL.

Can sampled at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a deep brownish black with thin tan head. Aroma and taste of nice coffee, earthy hop notes, and slight smoke. Decent, but not sure is a sweet stout.

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours black with a tan head that leaves plenty of lacing. Coffee (almost espresso-ish tasting) up front with milk chocolate and a combination of citrus and dank hop bitterness. Nice toffee and caramel maltiness on the backend. While it certainly makes this oatmeal coffee stout taste different from the others out there, I think there is a bit too much hops coming through. They give the coffee an acidic flavor in my opinion. Full body, creamy texture, moderately high carbonation, bitter finish. Good overall. Certainly enjoyable and worth your time.

On tap @ Good People. Black in color with a nice tan head. Good nutty coffee and toasted malt sweetness to go with plenty of roast, chocolate, and maybe even some coconut. A hint of hazelnut and vanilla sweetness. Subtle bitterness of coffee and dark cocoa. Plenty of great coffee flavor. Probably their best beer.

From notes. On tap at Bell’s Funvitational on September 12. The pour is dark brown with hints of ruby and a large light tan colored head, leaving some decent lace. The aroma is all coffee and light roast. There is a little metallic sweetness that comes through on the back end. The flavor mimics it with a bitter coffee and light roast. There isn’t a whole lot else happening here. The mouth feel thin and slick with a quick fall off. This thing is way too over carbonated. The finish is abrasive and harsh with a lingeringly metallic coffee out the back end. Not too great.
