(plastic milk jug thanks to blutt59) clear deep brown, wispy tan bubbles. Nose of lactose, oats, coffee, sweet, bit of agave. Taste is a bit burnt, oats, soft, acidic and a little bitter. Nearly uncarbonarted and thin. Not liking the finish at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2014 Bottle pour at the Rocket City Brewfest. Dark brown, almost black with a creamy head. Seemed a bit flat, thin - I expected more body from this. Good mix of hop, malt and coffee, with a nice bitterness, but it lacked some oomph. Might be better on tap.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at Knoxville Brewfest. It was just called "Good People Stout", but I tasted a lot of coffee, so I’m hoping I’m rating the correct beer. Anyway, yeah - coffee. Some hickory notes, some chocolate, but nice mix of coffee and hops. Tasty stuff. Also, the servers were rockin’ some truly epic beards, so they got that goin’ for ’em...

Very good beer, strong with a nice coffee finish. Not a smooth as I was hoping, but still a very good stout on draft.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Coffee and grass nose with tart apple overtones. Mahogany, medium tan head, decent lacing. Bark, thistle, coffee, sourwood, and moss flavor. Fizzy mouthfeel, astringent, alcohol more noticeable upon warming. Very earthy and robust. Full of rustic flavor and complexity.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler received in trade from GPHarris thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a dark brown bordering on black with a thinnish off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of freshly roasted coffee, milk chocolate, roasted grains and a earthy bitterness. Taste is roasty chocolaty smooth with lots of coffee. Earthy bitterness mixed with a roasted grain bitterness and a drying coffee component round out the finish. Smooth creamy bordering on grainy mouthfeel, light level of carbonation, medium body. This is a great easy drinking coffee stout. The coffee is not to harsh and the oats round out the drying affects of it quite nicely. Great brew.
I lost about an 1/8 of the growler and a good bit of the carbonation in transit, but the beer itself is still really good. Maybe one day I will try it at the source.
