3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. can poured into imperial pint glass. Slightly hazy orange with a flimsy white head that flees quickly. Smell is of a pretty standard, no-frills east coast IPA -- some piney and floral hops with a little bread crust in the background. Hop bitterness up front in the mouth with some more Europeanish hops and a little malt taking up the rear. Medium thickness and carbonation.
Not a bad IPA but there are much better choices out there. I mainly buy it because itís brewed right down the street from my house.

Thanks to Deuane for giving me a can of this one. My very first Alabama beer.
A - Pours murky orange with a huge three finger tall off white head leaving thin webs of lace down the glass. Nice pour.
S - Smells of pungent citric hops, grapefruit and mango puree, light caramel sweetness, and some sticky pine resin. This one is a tiny bit old but still very nice.
T - Starts off with a sizeable citric hop bite slowly giving way to hints of tropical fruits; mostly mango and grapefruit; growing caramel sweetness, and some sticky pine resin that clings to the pallet. I like the balance of hop to fruit in this one, it was pretty easy to drink and had plenty of flavor.
M - Smooth body and strong flavor with moderate carbonation. The mix of hop bitterness and sweet fruit is a great combo.
O - This one was really nice. It had a ton of hops and the fruit was still fairly fresh. The resins started to wear on me by the end of the glass but I could have another no problem.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can from liquor express. Pours dark burnt umber with half an inch of white foam. Itís leaving a ton of lacing in the glass. Nose is of Pine and spruce, very pleasant. Got a hint of orange on the tongue with pleasant hop flavor on the finish with very little bitterness. At 6% itís a bit too substantial to session but itís a nice example of the style.

I love going places and trying local brews. Such was the case with this one on a recent trip to Birmingham. Surprisingly dark orange for an IPA (looked more like a chewy Double IPA) but the tan foamy head stuck around atop a fairly hazy beer. Aroma was mostly sweet caramelly malt with a faint wisp of citrus, but the flavor told a different story. Very sufficient bittering and a solid malt backbone complement each other well. I was happy the sweet aroma didnít come through in the taste since I dislike ho-hum (boring) overly crystalíd IPAs. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full, surprising big for a 6% IPA. Although I enjoy more classic citrus hop flavor which this beer lacks, it was enjoyable and worthy of trying it again when I visit BHM.

12oz can -
Received via trade with farginbastige6! Again, thank you!! I like to think I know a little about IPAís. Iíve all kinds of different IPAís and this was quite tasty and very well made. After first cracking open the can, the first aroma coming out of it was oranges. After it hit the right temp, it really was like smelling a bag of fresh hops from the brewstore. A nice blend of pine and citrus. Flavor had a fantastic balance of doughy malts and fresh pine-cut hops. A great showing of an IPA, no matter what location itís brewed in.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy gold, large, puffy white head. Nose is highly oily grapefruit, bitter orange, a bit of caramel. Flavor is straight bitterness, like dry paper or envelope glue, bit or orange and candy as well merging into a toast finish with oily body.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355mL can thanks to blutt59. The pour is a hazy, deep orange looking odd in the glass. Very dirty but held up to the light it is quite a nice deep orange. Big, rocky yellow creme head. Great lace. Nose is mild detergent, sweet orange, flowers, sticky stale lemon drops and stale orange candies. Goes to old apple slices. Taste is sweeter, strange sticky lemon drops, astringent. Thickish mouthfeel, astringent and dry.

12oz can thanks to jzzbassman ! Pours a bright hazy amber orange with a small khaki head. Aroma is mango, tropical fruits, caramel, spice and sweet malts. Astringent spice bitterness wraps around sweet caramel malts and earthy hops. Nice IPA!
