COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A big, joyous celebration of all things hoppy (5 different varities). Large flavors and aroma of pine, citrus, flowers, spice, pineapple, and grassiness complimented with a touch of biscuit and caramel backbone. Our most requested beer.

Can thanks to woodchopper on BA! Hazy apricot pour, lasting carbonation which eventually left some nice lacing with a good aroma of syrupy sweet herbal/dirty hops and wood. Flavor is very sweet thick bitter hops, citrus rind and finished dry with all the previous flavors falling off. Decent beer, but I’m guessing it may not be fresh. I would like to try this again if given the chance.

Aroma is sweet flowers. Appearance holds a head for a long time. Taste is a bit to sweet... but builds bitter over time. Not as sweet as beer engineers version, but still to sweet. If you are looking for an IPA in AL go to STA Monkeynaught.

Thanks to Seymour for this one. Pours amber with a light haze and a large beige head. The aroma has funk, green onions, cream and caramel malt - decent aroma. Full body that’s a bit rough with fairly sharp carbonation. The taste starts with lots of woody cardboard and some dry malt. The finish is very woody and earthy. Seems quite old, but there is no date on the can.

Can… Murky amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The bouquet furnishes notes of caramel, toffee and citrusy, spicy, earthy hops. Full-bodied and silky with gentle carbonation. The flavor is a tea biscuit and caramel foundation that is totally overwhelmed by medium to heavy, grassy hop bitterness. Lengthy, bitter finish. Kudos to biggsbowler for sharing!

Thanks, brentfeesh. Tasted from cool 12oz can into tulip glass. It poured a pretty amber color but no head whatsoever. However, I received this beer in trade, and the can arrived unopened but a little sticky and wet. Perhaps the seal broke just enough to leak the carbonation. Oh well. Nice perfumey hops aroma, bread, brown sugar, light alcohol but not hot or fusel like you might expect from 9.3% ABV, faint fruity ale yeast esters. Hoppy flavor but matched by a hefty caramel malt sweetness. True-to-style Imperial IPA. A much nicer balance than their standard IPA, interestingly.

Thanks Brentfeesh (by way of Seymour). Caramel smell. Light brown. Very thin head. Hoppy.....but less hoppy than Good People’s single IPA. Pretty high alcohol that is well concealed. Spicy.

BARLEYWINEO (106) - Tacoma, USA - APR 28, 2012
A: Poured a deep orangish color with good carbonation and a huge dirty white cap and great lacing S: Grapefruit, caramel malt and light booze T: Big body and boozey with a malt forward presence, hops present grapefruit, grass and orange peel with a light dash of pineapple. Finishes w/ a medium bitterness and booziness M: Medium to big body on this, loads of flavor, malty O: A cut above average and pretty darn tasty overall.

Chemical, kat-whizzy aroma. Misty apricot gold, big fluffy head.  Dense body, smooth mouthfeel. Medium light sweetness, a little briny, fairly well balanced overall and warming. 10% Abv is masked well.  Grassy note in the long bitter finish.  Will make you cross-eyed on an empty stomach.
