Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is biscuit and honey malt, citrus, pine, and resin hops, pear esters, papaya and mango. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, light malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Can… Murky amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The bouquet furnishes notes of caramel, toffee and citrusy, spicy, earthy hops. Full-bodied and silky with gentle carbonation. The flavor is a tea biscuit and caramel foundation that is totally overwhelmed by medium to heavy, grassy hop bitterness. Lengthy, bitter finish. Kudos to biggsbowler for sharing!

LCBS 2010. Thanks JW. Goldish pour, nice white head. Grapefruit peel in the nose all the way. Flavor has the grapefruit peel, some malty sweetness. Damn good beer.

Milk jug courtesy of jzzbassman. Pours a mahogany/brown with a thin but prominent tan head. Smells of caramel, resin, pine, peppery. Tastes earthy, sweet and bitter with some resiny splashes on the finish. I’d like more hops in this one, but an enjoyable drink. The first of what I hope will be many big beers to come out of Alabama. Congrats on the new legislation!

Had on tap in Birmingham. Aroma has a hint of alcohol and so does the flavor. Otherwise the flavor is mostly sweet including citrus hops and some malt backing.

Milk jug from jzzbassman. Thanks! Aroma of caramel sweetness, some sugars, a touch of light butter maybe and some floral, pine, and peppery hops. Pours dark amber with some thin bubbles for a second. Flavors initially of caramel and a hefty does of malty sweetness, a hint of butter and then a decent hop dose that rounds out the finish in the form of floral and pepper hops with a hint of pine. Some lingering bitterness for a second as well as a hint of alcohol. Carbonation was more or less lost due to the milk jug, but it did have a little bubbles. Full with some lingering sweetness as well.
