Can. Pours a hazy amber with a floral hop filled aroma. Hop lover beer for sure. A little bit of sweet fruit in there too. Finishes really smooth and full of flavor. Easy drinking. Very well done.

Bottle from Fred Meyer, Ballard, Seattle
Hazy amber color with medium head. The aroma is very nice, there are resiny hops, delicate biscuity malt and a touch of fruity hops. Lean body, with rather dry mouthfeel; the malt flavor has a very pleasant caramel and toffee accent; correct bitterness with a good amount of hop qualities, some citrusy resins included.
Very well balanced, yet with character, and easy to drink; excellent IPA.

I poured a 12oz can into a goblet. There was no freshness date. My friend Jason gave this to me (thanks!).

Appearance: Hazy shade of orange. Pours to a small, white, foamy head which laces and retains well.

Smell: Plenty of hops of the piney/herbal quality, plus significant darker malt presence.

Taste: It’s been a long time since I’ve had a so-called East Coast IPA, though I’m not sure GoodLife Descender IPA counts since it’s made in Oregon. It definitely has the makings of a classic IPA from the opposite coast with a strong hop presence of pine, resin and earth; but with significant malt character as well. Ironic considering the guy who gave me this can doesn’t like East Coast IPAs.

As soon as the beer hits my tongue I receive a slightly spicy or herbal sensation. Slightly astringent and piney, with a strong dry bitterness throughout. There is a sweetness at the core, though. Malts of the dark amber variety as well as slight orange juice concentrate sweetness. There’s an almost spicy sensation on the backend, though the bitterness is even stronger. A touch of alcohol imparts some rum-like character to keep it interesting and tasty. Not exactly a mind-blowing or wholly original IPA, but a satisfying one at the very least.

Drinkability: This is the type of beer that drinks exactly as an IPA should. The body isn’t light, but it’s not thick and sticky, either. Distinct crispness throughout with plenty of flavor as well. A mild alcohol presence, which is surprisingly considering GoodLife Descender IPA is only 7% ABV, though it may not be as robust as that number would indicate. Smooth and easy to drink and the palette is versatile to make it ideal to pair with food.

Poured from can.. Delicious and crisp. Refreshing and light with a backbone at a very reasonable price point.

c/o JWS Aroma - cara/crystal malt, floral hops, and citrus Appearance - orange body color; hazed liquid; 1" white head that settles into a foam; nice dappled lacing Taste - West Coast hops, cara/crystal malt, some grapefruit and lemon, and some floral hops as well Palate - body is medium; texture is approaching oily; carbonation is average - to lively; finish is nice and citrus and floral hopped, but not abrasive.

Pours a dark orange with yellow hues to it. Flavor is quite juicy and wet but no one particular fruit leaps to mind. Aroma is peppery and pine. Some of that underlies the flavor as well.

Pours three fingers of head on a cloudy medium straw colored body. The aroma is pine and orange. Pretty nice. The taste is quite piney, a solid dry bitterness throughout. It has a good malt backbone. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. It’s a good IPA.

Can. Pours a light orange pour with a tight head. Nose is citrus with fresh oranges and subtle pine and resin. Taste is full of citrus , rather light and easy drinkable. Not overly bitter. Finishes on the same notes, descent. quaff score 7 / 10
