3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this one. Pours hazy golden orange with an off-white head. The aroma has tropical fruits, modestly sweet malt, orange, pineapple and a bit of pine. It has a medium husky rough body with gentle abrasive carbonation. The flavor starts with pine, grapefruit zest, dry malt and mild alcohol. The finish is dry, hoppy, resiny and has lots of grapefruit zest. Really nicely made IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark Orange-amber body, large off-white head, sudsy lacing. Nose shows grapefruit upfront followed by perfume pine, resin and herbals. Flavor shows similar hoppy notes but increased caramel malts. Medium bodied, assertive bitterness, gentle carbonation. Nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reviewed 3/1/13. 22 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is a two finger offwhite shade with many of the usual characteristics in an IPA (okay retention, good texture, nice patchy lacing on the glass). Pretty standard IPA appearance.
S: The hops bring both a good deal of grapefruit peel/flesh, and permutes into a piny, peppery aroma after opening up some. Caramel malts provide the backbone. Very good, especially considering it seems to be a typical "crystal malt and pine hops" IPA Iím oh-so-used to on the right coast.
T: Iím really enjoying the grapefruity hops that open the palate up. As the flavor progresses, it shifts from grapefruit to bright, piny qualities on the finish and aftertaste. The malt profile helps to keep things in check without overpowering. While it doesnít really have any standout qualities to it, the finesse and refinement of the execution is what makes this a great IPA.
M: Itís thick and creamy, yet dry all at the same time. Hop resins accumulate on the palate to a very pleasant level. Thereís just something about it that gives an incredibly íbrightí feel to it.
O: Itís not particularly unique, but the execution here is top-notch. The beer of the month club I got this from has been WILDLY hit-or-miss so far (emphasis on miss), so Iím finally glad to receive a really good beer from them.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A dry herbal/grassy/fruity golden IPA with discreet biscuity malts. Average.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase. Bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt.
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a medium off-white head with medium retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is dank fruity hops with a floral component Taste has some biscuity malts with a fortune cookies flavor, lightly toasted, white grapefruits, dry green herbs, fry flower petals, sweet orange peels, dry sun dried yellowed grass, lemon zest. Sharp bitterness of medium intensity leaving with a finish that sucks the mouth dry. This is a hop-forward beer lacking depth in the malt department, dryness is more because of a lack in the malt sweetness than a high attenuation. I liked this beer because I like hoppy beers and I like dry beersł but objectively speaking I donít think this is a well-made IPA. At least now I can say Iíve led a GoodLife (straight to my mouth).

22 oz bottle: Pours orange slightly cloudy with a big tan head. Aroma of citrus and spruce - Amazing. Taste is bitter citrus hops, great profile. Finishes light but is an excellent hop forward IPA with great aroma and appearance.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured pale golden/orange with a thick forming white head. This hits the spot as a west coast IPA. Floral, vibrant, pine-like and citrus hops with a clean balance. Lots of hop flavor without being too bitter, and just the right amount of malt without coming off as too bready and grainy. This is worth revisiting for those special IPA craving. Iím hoping for six packs.
