3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours quite clear golden with a large, pillowy white head. Aroma has a huge C-hop presence, basically like picking a cascade cone off the vine, opening it up, and inhaling. That comes through in the flavor as well, along with a bit of biscuit and a medium-bitter finish. Light and drinkable, but at 7% maybe deceptively so. Over the course of the bottle, the bitterness becomes a bit much. Very enjoyable, though.

Wow. Outstanding new brewery pumping out quality. Pours amber. Delicious fruity grapefruit citrus as expected, along with earthy, bready malt tones. I have no idea how they got this one to taste like the dusty pine and juniper mountain bike trails, but they did. Delicious. That was the description from everyone at my table. Keep it up -- Do we even need to say that the atmosphere of this place is Bend as it should be??

Enjoyed this IPA. Itís bold and bitter, yet itís got some nice nips of caramel sweetness and toasty bread crust to complement. Hop notes are loaded with dank pine and grapefruit rind. Tangerine burps added a nice touch.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ar: Piney west coast hop aroma: spruce, grass. Caramel maltiness, with notes of green alcohol.
Ap: Slightly hazy golden -- bottle fermented (layer of yeast that was poured into glass). Tight white head that lingers with good retention.
Ta: Grassy hop bitterness that finishes dry, with slight astringent harshness and a lingering piney/spruce earwax character. (Additional perception of bitterness from medium-high carbonation.) Subdued caramelly sweetness from malt. Balanced heavily toward hops. No diacetyl.
Palate: Medium bodied and smooth, with an astringent tannic sensation from hops. Carbonation is medium-high. Bitter and astringent finish from combination of hops and high alcohol.
Overall: A big, bitter, Pacific Northwest IPA that packs a whollop of late astringency from aggressive hopping. Would be difficult to pair with anything but the most aggressive of food flavors (salt and vinegar chips?). This is a beer that definitely gets better as your palate adjusts, but donít plan on drinking anything more delicate afterwards (including other IPAs!).

Very nice. hoppy! deep malts goes heavy but blends like a fine wine. The malts are perfect, the hop bill is so good. Overall great, herbal/floral/clean washy malt grain wallowing in slightly sweet amazing brew

Decent IPA, good hop profile if not particularly pronounced or creative, lots of resins with some fruitiness to balance it out. Darker malt body balances it out, but otherwise meh.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle from "Lifesource" in S.Salem,Oregon
Typical orange body for an IPA but with a very large thick and bubbly creme coloured head.
Fine and strong hop aromas spicy, fruity and pine like..very nice.
Taste typical deep ,dank PNW style..but has an intresting creaminess just below the surface.Thats makes this less a hop monster and more approachable and even balanced.
Nice palate though i think this could have used more carbonation.
Odd IPA at once typical then very untypical in that the creaminess makes this so easy to gulp.
I liked it though maybe on my next trip to Bend i can taste it at the source.
