Reviewed 3/1/13. 22 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass. A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is a two finger offwhite shade with many of the usual characteristics in an IPA (okay retention, good texture, nice patchy lacing on the glass). Pretty standard IPA appearance. S: The hops bring both a good deal of grapefruit peel/flesh, and permutes into a piny, peppery aroma after opening up some. Caramel malts provide the backbone. Very good, especially considering it seems to be a typical "crystal malt and pine hops" IPA I’m oh-so-used to on the right coast. T: I’m really enjoying the grapefruity hops that open the palate up. As the flavor progresses, it shifts from grapefruit to bright, piny qualities on the finish and aftertaste. The malt profile helps to keep things in check without overpowering. While it doesn’t really have any standout qualities to it, the finesse and refinement of the execution is what makes this a great IPA. M: It’s thick and creamy, yet dry all at the same time. Hop resins accumulate on the palate to a very pleasant level. There’s just something about it that gives an incredibly ’bright’ feel to it. O: It’s not particularly unique, but the execution here is top-notch. The beer of the month club I got this from has been WILDLY hit-or-miss so far (emphasis on miss), so I’m finally glad to receive a really good beer from them.

12 oz can, thanks Amber. Aroma is candy sweet, pine, perfume, floral, grapefruit. Pours slightly hazy golden with a huge off-white fluffy head with excellent retention; laces nicely. Taste is bittersweet with an emphasis on bitter. Body is medium to nearly thin, carbonation high. Nice enough.

Hazy dull tan, lots of grapefruity hop, With a touch of style grapefruit hop. A bit chewy in the malt character. Ok IPA but arguably this lacks brightness.

Poured from can to glass. Honey hue with creamy white head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is melon, pine, papaya, strawberry, grass. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness initially with a nice strong hop bitterness following that extends into the finish. Overall this is a really nice fruity IPA.

12 oz can, excellent, pours a hazy orange color with a nice white head and excellent lacing. Nice citrus hop aroma. A bit of ethyl acetate, but it’s not offensive, and a bit of caramel hop oxidation. Sweet and bitter flavor. Oxidation is a bit more apparent in the flavor, but the nice orange citrus taste sticks around as well. Would love to try fresher, but pretty damn solid either way.

Bottle at the Watford tasting 26/07/14. Thanks to Ed. Translucent bright orange with a Ricky white head and good sticky lace. Aroma is big nice big resinous, pine needles and some dank orange. Flavour is sticky resin, orange peel, pine hop. Decent base malts, light caramel. Palate is lovely sticky resin and mouth filling carbonation. Very good.

Can thanks to my summer secret santa. Pours a mostly clear, golden orange color with a small foamy head that lingers nicely. Interesting aroma. Overripe oranges, pine, tropical fruit, and biscuits. Tastes more sweet than bitter. Fairly juicy. Orange juice and pineapple. Some pine in the finish. Pretty nice IPA but I can’t help but think there’s too much residual sugar here. I feel like this is close to being awesome.

Draft - Sweet citrus and grapefruit, with a sweet malt backbone. Cloudy orange with a good white head. Sweet grapefruit and an upfront bitterness that lingers like pith. Floral and a long finish.
