Bomber. Pours a solid orange and gold color with an inch of beige foam. Strong floral citrus and pine resin in the aroma as well as some tropical fruit and orange peel around the edges. The taste leads off with potent resiny hops bitterness, grapefruit and tangerine notes. After that there’s some pine, citrus rind and a faintly sweet malt presence. Mouthfeel is smooth and adequately carbonated with a dry, intensely bitter finish. Pine cone juice at its finest.

Aroma is floral with some herbal notes and citrus. Initial hit on the palate is some booze and herbal/medicinal notes that then fade to piney bitterness with a light bready backing and finishes long and bitter. For some reason I found this somewhat unsettling.

Reviewed 3/1/13. 22 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass. A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is a two finger offwhite shade with many of the usual characteristics in an IPA (okay retention, good texture, nice patchy lacing on the glass). Pretty standard IPA appearance. S: The hops bring both a good deal of grapefruit peel/flesh, and permutes into a piny, peppery aroma after opening up some. Caramel malts provide the backbone. Very good, especially considering it seems to be a typical "crystal malt and pine hops" IPA I’m oh-so-used to on the right coast. T: I’m really enjoying the grapefruity hops that open the palate up. As the flavor progresses, it shifts from grapefruit to bright, piny qualities on the finish and aftertaste. The malt profile helps to keep things in check without overpowering. While it doesn’t really have any standout qualities to it, the finesse and refinement of the execution is what makes this a great IPA. M: It’s thick and creamy, yet dry all at the same time. Hop resins accumulate on the palate to a very pleasant level. There’s just something about it that gives an incredibly ’bright’ feel to it. O: It’s not particularly unique, but the execution here is top-notch. The beer of the month club I got this from has been WILDLY hit-or-miss so far (emphasis on miss), so I’m finally glad to receive a really good beer from them.

Decent IPA, good hop profile if not particularly pronounced or creative, lots of resins with some fruitiness to balance it out. Darker malt body balances it out, but otherwise meh.

Deep gold/light copper, slightly hazy, off-white head. Nice aroma of orange-tangerine citrusy hops with a little underlying grainy malt. Flavor again features lots of citrusy hop flavor with fairly strong grassy and herbal notes. The herbal hop flavor lingers in finish.

On tap at Venti’s Downtown. Standard India Pale Ale. Pine, grapefruit and other citrus flavors up front with a sweetish caramel background. Finish has a decent bitter bite to it.

Can, fairly fresh. Very standard looking IPA with a little lace and head. Aroma is very floral with a mild sweetness, dry grain, and cedar. Taste is similar to this with subdued clean bitterness and a cedar end. Feel is soft and medium bodied. A very easy and well executed IPA with just enough character.

Wow. Outstanding new brewery pumping out quality. Pours amber. Delicious fruity grapefruit citrus as expected, along with earthy, bready malt tones. I have no idea how they got this one to taste like the dusty pine and juniper mountain bike trails, but they did. Delicious. That was the description from everyone at my table. Keep it up -- Do we even need to say that the atmosphere of this place is Bend as it should be??
