American Stout Ale
At GoodLife Brewing, we add Northwest twists to all our creations and feel this beer is a perfect example. Why you ask? Well, it is an American Stout, a category that is the outcome of US based brewers’ vision for a stout, resulting in a smooth bodied ale with subtle hints of roasted malt and chocolate combined with a slight coffee and cocoa character. Yes, there are more twists, but we forgot to write them down.

The label of this beer is a work of art that has a few twists of its own. Created with the help of a lady loaded with artistic ability and soul, it tells a story. Did they wearer of the boots, hike the pass in the backdrop? Did they pitch a tent with purpose? Did they celebrate a day in the outdoors with our stout? Are they passed out – ah asleep? We hope the answers are unequivocally yes.

Life is short - live it with purpose, share your stories and always sleep well so you can make it over that Pass and have a Stout.

More. MORE I said! Thank you Goodlife, for making life good. I didn’t pass out after this Pass Stout, but had I have, it would have been sweet Wintery dreams. Looks great, a nice tan creamy and foamalicious noggin on this liquid scroggin. Oats, cocoa, root beer, vanilla, coffee and burnt bread kiss your rosy winter nose. Taste is wonderfully the same, nutty too with a great thicker texture. Pass me another Stout.

On tap at Brooklyn. It’s rare that a stout disappoints me. This one did. Watery, mild, Bready maybe? White-bread, certainly.

Draught. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose was rather dry and fairly roasty, and reminded me more of the dry stout style. Taste was also quite roasty and slightly bitter, and even drier than the nose implied. Decent, but not overwhelming.

Draft at Collins Pub. Nothing noteworthy. To the point that i cant think of anything worth describing. My only reaction while drinking this was it’s kind of like sierra nevada stout but i’d rather drink that. Also it was a little boozy.
