COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Why name a beer Sweet As? Sweet As could be the adjective to describe a fishing hole, a ski run, a sunset glowing behind a mountain or a set of legs that happen to be walking in front of you. Sweet As means “Really Good”.

Can from The Bier Stein in Eugene. Thin malt nose, grass, and some citrus. Brown/amber color, fluffy head. Light caramel initial, with wheat, cereal, and light grapefruit. Medium body. Mild, but tasty.

can. hazy yellow pour with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. pale spicy cereals, fruitiness - apricots and peaches, citrus, over infused tea, herbal grassiness, pepper. moderate carbonation, light body - fairly oily, balanced spicy-citrusy finish. interesting apricots and tea pale ale.

Pours a honey orange gold with sunshine highlights and a fat finger of cream colored foam that dwindles in it’s own good time. Smell is subdued and there is no date on this one. Smells like tr0pical lightness, , cracker and some orange. A breath of sweetness from malt and from fruits. So lovely. Taste is more pronounced than the nose. Kiwi and green light sweetness, some berry like fruits and a bit of melon. It’s the melon that is so captivating in this. It’s chilly, icy and green but sweet. There is a light hop bitter and a touch of sweet grass. This beer finishes a bit muddled. The fruits all seem to lose their definition in the finish and it’s a jumbled sweetness but it’s good. I wish it had been dry but it finishes sweet and with a lingering aftertaste of kiwi. Light creamy and almost crisp mouthfeel What’s not to like? I had a six pack of this beer and drank it in two days it was that good. I love ti with spicy food. Light , almost crisp and just fantastic flavor!

Basically the perfect combination of craft flavour and Macro drinkability. I spent a year in NZ so I instantly had a predilection for this beer. It honestly does a great job of evoking the South Pacific/NZ zeitgeist. Sweet tropical and citrus hops smack the nose. Caramel, some grains, hay but mostly tangerine, mango, lemon, pineapple and that ilk. Very easy to drink and to enjoy. The alcohol is masked well under this sweet as brew bro. Chur!

Out of the can. A: Cloudy yellow-copper, white fluffy head with excellent retention. N: Malt, sweetened grapefruit, lemon . zest, biscuit and cracker. Hay bales and grains. T: Moderately bitter with a pleasing grain and malt background. Medium flavors dancing around. M: Medium bodied, with some resins to stick on the tongue. Creamy and bubbly. O: A post-yard work beer. Has a PNW type bitterness laced through the flavors, but the hops don’t add much flavor. A grain forward beer that’s still acceptable.

Bottle pour. Brownish yellow color. Bready aroma. A little malty up front with a smooth biscuit finish. Not a whole lot of flavor, but very drinkable for sure. Overall, it’s alright.

Can. Citrus, light pine and a touch of something tropical. Mild malty sweetness in the background. Crisp. Finishes with mild bitterness and a peach flavored aftertaste.

An American Pale Wheat Ale. It is not as great as I hoped, but it was still a far above average beer.
Earlier Rating: 7/21/2013 Total Score: 2.4
Has a strange peach flavor to it. Good, but not one of the best APA’s you will find.

12oz can. Pours out a hazy straw topped with a white head. Nose is tropical fruit sweetness and some sweet hop notes. Taste is as the nose with lots of tropical fruit light bitterness and a nice sweet malt.
