Why name a beer Sweet As? Sweet As could be the adjective to describe a fishing hole, a ski run, a sunset glowing behind a mountain or a set of legs that happen to be walking in front of you. Sweet As means “Really Good”.

Serving: from can--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate herb and grapefruit hoppy aroma. Appearance: average-sized, frothy, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cloudy, medium-amber body. Taste: lightly sour, grapefruit-like initial flavor and finish with short duration. Palate: medium body with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great aroma, interesting and complex taste, easy to drink, thirst quenching. What more could a person want from a beer?

32 oz growler- Pours lightly hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, nice tropical mango, getting hops, which surprises me for the low ibu’s. The taste is easy drinking, mango and orange and other tropical fruitiness, lightly dry finish, very light hops, but are there. This would be a perfect session beer, might have a new camping beer!

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some messy lacing sliding into the beer. The smell had a big sweet burst of tropical goodness flowing into floral and sweet grassy qualities. The taste was mainly sweet with barely any bitterness. Tropical fruits really dominate and allowing a sticky sweet aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth and sweet somewhat candy - like to semi-creaminess runs along my tongue. Overall, APA or APWA, I’m thinking this is an APA, as I don’t get any wheat bite anywhere. Still a delicious beer I’d probably come back to preferably in the Summer.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2015 This poured a clear, deep yellow with a bright white one-finger head and nice lace. Strong citrus and floral aromas. Tropical citrus hop flavors up front with some grassiness in the back and hop bitterness throughout. Medium body, lively carbonation, soft mouthfeel and a lingering grapefruit finish.

Can from Medford TJ’s. Nice sweet citrus hop aroma that isn’t IPA overwhelming. Cloudy orange in the glass w/light head. Clean crisp flavor that again is subdued making you want more. Solid Pale that is a bit on the big side (6.1%?) for a beer, which is a session style beer.

Can from Trader Joe’s. Hazy medium amber in color with a lot of sediment. Sweet and somewhat hoppy nose with a hint of sourness, I believe. Quite malty. A little bit of an biscuit quality. A bit of hops. Pretty thick mouthfeel. Decent pal ale.

A tasty pake with a lovely golden graham cereal character. The hops are mellow and a little orange-y, with a touch of bitterness in the finish but not much at all, which I appreciate. It’s smooth and silky too. I’d drink another.

Draft - Nice perfumy citrus and some tropical fruit. Clearish gold with a rich white head. Tastes just as it smells but more muted. A bit boring but nice.
