Why name a beer Sweet As? Sweet As could be the adjective to describe a fishing hole, a ski run, a sunset glowing behind a mountain or a set of legs that happen to be walking in front of you. Sweet As means “Really Good”.

I’m not sure how I managed to get my hands on a Summer Ale in the middle of Winter, but here it is. Pretty good, not great, but still a very nice Wheat Beer/American Pale Ale.

An American Pale Wheat Ale. It is not as great as I hoped, but it was still a far above average beer.

Has a strange peach flavor to it. Good, but not one of the best APA’s you will find.

cloudy gold brown pour. Aroma peaches wheat. Tastes wheat oranges honey. Dries out a bit, but this is erring on the sweet side.

a lower alcohol and super low IBU pale ale that then surprises with a fantastic aroma and flavor of juicy aromatic hops. Very sessionable, not bitter at all, but with layers of fruit and flowers. Liked this one.

On tap at Giovanni’s in Beaverton last night. A clear, light orange with a dense, white head with good retention and nice lacing, this looks solid. The nose is fresh, fruity, bright and refreshing with light orange, mandarin and a touch of grapefruit present. A mild honey character is present too. The palate opens fresh, fruity and refreshing with a blend of not too acidic oranges, minimal vegetal hop character, a little grapefruit and some honey. Mildly watery on the mid palate, this beer is drying on the finish with a mild bitterness. Pleasantly carbonated, this is quite enjoyable. Solid stuff.

Can at Tasty N Alder. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A nice fresh fruit, light orange nose. The flavor is medium fruity hops, slight bitterness, earthy dry malt base, toast. Good. Quite nice actually.

12 oz can, thanks Amber. Aroma consists of dough, pine, lemon. Pours hazy orange with a small white head that falls after a minute into a ring of foam. Taste is fairly bitter backed by some sweetness, crisp and refreshing. Doesn’t taste 6%. Highly carbonated with a fairly thin body. Nicely made pale.

Refreshing to say the least. The taste is good, though I wish it had a bit more kick to it. Though, It’s not an IPA so maybe i shouldn’t judge that so harshly. This round came after something much more distinct.

Can from The Bier Stein in Eugene. Thin malt nose, grass, and some citrus. Brown/amber color, fluffy head. Light caramel initial, with wheat, cereal, and light grapefruit. Medium body. Mild, but tasty.

Pours a honey orange gold with sunshine highlights and a fat finger of cream colored foam that dwindles in it’s own good time. Smell is subdued and there is no date on this one. Smells like tr0pical lightness, , cracker and some orange. A breath of sweetness from malt and from fruits. So lovely. Taste is more pronounced than the nose. Kiwi and green light sweetness, some berry like fruits and a bit of melon. It’s the melon that is so captivating in this. It’s chilly, icy and green but sweet. There is a light hop bitter and a touch of sweet grass. This beer finishes a bit muddled. The fruits all seem to lose their definition in the finish and it’s a jumbled sweetness but it’s good. I wish it had been dry but it finishes sweet and with a lingering aftertaste of kiwi. Light creamy and almost crisp mouthfeel What’s not to like? I had a six pack of this beer and drank it in two days it was that good. I love ti with spicy food. Light , almost crisp and just fantastic flavor!
