a good dark beer, it has a bit of a chocolatey taste to it but its not too overpowering.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Not a bad stout but it did not stand out for me. Maybe a wee bit too sweet and not enough complex malt flavours to have a second

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask@Reading BF. Quite buttery and sweet, it was nice at times, but too sweetand caramelly, needs more roasted bitterness and dryness on the finish.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2007 Looked appealing enough, but compromised by a massive diacetyl butterscotch presence. So much so that I was unable to get through that to appreciate much else about the beer other than that it was maybe a bit thin for a stout. Poor conditioning to blame Iíd say. Flagged for re-rate when the opportunity arises. Allowances made in the scoring. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005. (4/4/5/3/9=2.5)
RE-RATE: Cask (gravity dispense), Bricklayers Arms, Putney. Much better than previously. Very dark, with a thin beige lhead. Dry smoky malt on the palate, with touches of milky chocolate. Light but firm mouthfeel. But again undermined by a dodgy aroma. This time it was sweaty socks and clammy, undeveloped malt. Thankfully, that didnít interfere too much with the other aspects of the beer.

Cask @ Camra National Winter Ale Festival, Manchester, UK 29 Jan 2005
Undrinkable lactic acid mess, with artificial sweeteners-taste. Maybe should be advetrised as a milk stout?
