harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 8, 2005 Cask at Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Not a bad stout but it did not stand out for me. Maybe a wee bit too sweet and not enough complex malt flavours to have a second Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Dec 3, 2007 Considering the style, Scores ranging from 1 to 5, 5 being the most intense

Comments: Extremely tasty, very well concocted, drinkable stout.
duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England May 13, 2005 Cask@Reading BF. Quite buttery and sweet, it was nice at times, but too sweetand caramelly, needs more roasted bitterness and dryness on the finish. MesandSim (4723), Highgate, Greater London, England Apr 20, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at the Three Judges, Glasgow.
Black brown colour with no head. Heavy diacetyl with some faint smoky malt just about making it through. Not great. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England May 11, 2005 Updated: Mar 1, 2007Looked appealing enough, but compromised by a massive diacetyl butterscotch presence. So much so that I was unable to get through that to appreciate much else about the beer other than that it was maybe a bit thin for a stout. Poor conditioning to blame I’d say. Flagged for re-rate when the opportunity arises. Allowances made in the scoring. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005. (4/4/5/3/9=2.5)
RE-RATE: Cask (gravity dispense), Bricklayers Arms, Putney. Much better than previously. Very dark, with a thin beige lhead. Dry smoky malt on the palate, with touches of milky chocolate. Light but firm mouthfeel. But again undermined by a dodgy aroma. This time it was sweaty socks and clammy, undeveloped malt. Thankfully, that didn’t interfere too much with the other aspects of the beer.
