4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, - MAY 5, 2007
Cask at the Myrtle Grove (JDW), Bingley, West Yorks’, 03-05-07. Golden in colour, nice floral aroma with a hint of alcohol. Taste was very smooth with hints of vanilla, some grapefruit flavours also coming through after with a dry finish, great beer, suprised at the ratings of others as I felt this was an excellent beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 20, 2011
First tasted this at the Waterside Inn, Seamill in August 1995. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Dusty hop flowers in the short aroma. Thin refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a slight digestive biscuit note with gooseberry, kiwi and lime notes coming through. Hops give a light citric taint to the resiny aftertaste. Finish is lightly edged with dry hops to give a sharp citric bite to accompany the golden syrup laden malty finish. An excellent ESB session beer and well recommended.

What I imagine Harry Potters butterbeer to taste like!
Poured a hazy golde with good tight head. aroma is hoppy/grapefruit and the taste was very buttery with a smack of toffee! leaves a silky mouth coating with a bitter finish. very drinkable, but a strange taste
Cask from Town Street Tavern, Horsforth, Leeds
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2007
Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Beer Festival, Putney, London. Rich gold colour. Quite pale for a strong bitter but definitely a bitter rather than a golden ale. Not for the first time with a Goose Eye beer, the overall effect was impaired by a heavy buttery diacetyl presence in the aroma. In the mouth its cleaner, with a balance of soft malt and citric hop. Decent bite on the finish. But, unfortunately, its the diacetyl that leaves the most lasting impression.

Cask conditioned, gravity dispense. Straw gold colour. Lots of fruit in the nose, mainly grapefruit which carries through into the body mingling with some malt before finishing sweetly.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 21, 2002
Sampled cask conditioned. Pale golden, actually looks like a stale lager. Flowery hop aroma. Soapy mouthfeel, medium bodied, rather sweet and fruity. Nice hop bitterness and salty finish. Nice, but nothing too special.
