3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jokes (1453) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2003
15 Year Bitter. Poured a rich amber color with little, but persistent, head. The aroma has a nice malty fruit character with nice hops in the finish. The flavor is also quite enjoyable. Dominated by caramel and fruity malt, it has a nice balancing hop finish. Flavorful and easy drinking, this is a nice session ale.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heykevin (1269) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - AUG 10, 2003
Almost no aroma percepted, even when warm, and then, jsut a smattering of dusty hops. Malt character moderate, fair bit of caramel. Some bittering hops show late, but overall short of character.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 iwantalambic (1478) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 18, 2003
Cedar coloured, very persistent off-white head. Wonderful aroma -> pine, hops, a bit of lemon rind, a good amount of sweet malt to balance. . . Adequate flavour - a good representation of the style and a very nice session ale.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 11, 2003
Vibrant red; light aroma – had to work hard and then only maybe found some earth, slight cherry…these were so light though that ambient aromas really are all you could expect to enjoy as a casual drinker. Predominantly caramelly, with toast, some chocolate malt and a subtley emerging bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 9, 2003
Berry pepper sprinkled on earth and loads of hops...In a thin body like this, this hoppy overhaul kind of buries the fact that it's not that complex...A grand Marnier-like alcohol appears, although this is not strong at all in alcohol...A puzzling wine of a bitter that should probably be billed otherwise...

Reddish amber - ruby, small white head. Strangely sweet, light roasted malt, gentle bitterness. Drinkable ESB needs some more depth, slightly too soft as well.

tap-Goose Island Clybourn-RBSG-6/29/03. Aroma was very hoppy. Appearance was ruby red with a slight rocky head. Palate was full bodied and smooth. Flavor was full of earthy british hops, and a nice malt backbone. of the 3 beers i had at GI, this was the best.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Schroppfy (2332) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - JUN 30, 2003
Tap @ GIBC, RBSG2003. Seemed to have a bit of West-Coasty hops, but doesn't. Has some of a sweet Maris touch without the hi alch I usually associate with that malting. Graprefruit. Nice red color. No lingering head. Not as good as I had hoped.
