3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2006 Bottle. Pours very murkey golden with a nice white head. Very yeasty aroma with with notes of pear and apple. Very grainy and earthy mouthfeel. Flavor starts of with grass and lemon, then transitions to sweet honey. Bitterness comes out in the finish along with a hint of alcohol and chalk. A respectable beer from one of my favorite brewpubs. I prefer the version on tap.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11/15/2010: Goose Island Demolition Belgian Style Golden Ale... Aroma: Pale malts, light candi sugar, clover honey, ripe fleshy fruits (nectarine and black plum), a hint spice (corriander), grapefruit citrus, floral overtones. Appearance: Golden (duh!) color; very cloudy; small, frothy, off-white head. Flavor: More difficult to describe... It’s slightly sweet, yet slightly sour and contains notes of white wheat, lemon pith, honey, yeast, and persimmon with pinch of white pepper spiciness and grassy hops in the finish with a moderate bitterness and tangy/sour aftertaste; alcohol is invisible. Palate: Medium-light to medium body; small, subtle carbonation bubbles. Overall: Very tasty; it has good depth and complexity

Hazy yellow color with a white head. The head was medium size with good retention and some lacing. The smell was yeast and spices. The taste was light malt with some yeast flavors and light hops coming through towards the dry finish. Mouthfeel was good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with a half finger white head head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with muted hops subtle spice and sweet malts. Faint floral hops along with some pepper, rye, biscuit, caramel and toffee.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation up front and a decent balance of zesty spice and sweet malt notes. Hints of pepper and cinnamon followed by faint floral hops and spicy rye. I’m also picking up some light fruit which compliments the caramel, toffee and biscuit characteristics. Slight buttery aftertaste lingering into a dry finish. ABV is well masked at 8%.
