Brewed as a collaboration between Goose Island Brewmaster Brett Porter, Senior Brewer Keith Gabbett, Pub Brewmaster Nick Barron and Alumni Brewmaster Greg Hall. Deep mahogany color, rich fruit aroma with notes of lilac, big malt body with touches of roast and a dry, crisp finish.

Bottle from sethdude. Pours bright, clear copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is fruit/floral. Or floral/fruit. Med body. Flavor is floral/fruit. I’m thinking plum skin. It’s on the dry side, hoppy, but not bitter. Violets come to mind.

Bottle. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average to large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate roasted malt and bitter aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

Amber pour with an off white head. Very pale flavored beer. Watery, not much hops, malty finish. Very mediocre. Bummer.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured an amber color with a small sized off white head. Fruity, caramel, and brown sugar. All around malty and sweet.

A decent though not outstanding ESB. Hop bitterness in the aftertaste, I would like to get something more out front in taste and aroma. Lacy, dark golden. Medium mouthfeel. Very drinkable, nevertheless.

Pours a clear bronze-orange color with a medium thick and foamy white head that diminishes slowly. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops and a touch of fruit. The finish is moderately sweet with a bready malt aftertaste. Decent ESB overall.

Bottle from Craft Ale. Pours clear deep copper with minimal off-white head. Nose is spicy caramel malt, assertive hops, some black peppery notes. Tastes somewhat bitter, with a big hop flavor, some black peppery and fruity noes, and a hoppy finish. Like a hopped up black peppery ESB.

Bottled. Poured crystal-clear coppery-amber with a creamy, sticky beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasted redder fruits, toffee, and a touch of molasses with fresh accents of soft pine and earthy hops.. very nice. The flavor found the same fruits as the nose plus a bit of caramel and nutty notes at the core.. floral, piney, and earthy bitterness around and through the tangy finish.. spicier as it warmed up.. very tasty stuff. Light-medium bodied with rolling carbonation on the middle of the palate and tangy/spicy notes extending outward.. excellent transitions and balance.. great brew!
