2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Lemon and slightly dusty aroma, with a a thin yellow appearance. Mouth feel is very thin. Has a decent burst of fruity flavor at first, but dissipates very quickly with no lasting finish. Disappointingly one-note in flavor with little complexity.

An ok effort. Just letting it sit for a few minutes and warm up made it much worse. All of a sudden got a little woddy flavor to it and then dissipated. For Goose Island, Iím let down.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a slightly cloudy yellow. Aroma of wheat with a hint of vanilla and soap. A very light flavored beer with hints of yeast. Not really that exciting.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Shortyís. This central Chicago themed brew is advertised as "President Obamaís favorite beer." Pour is a transparent but slightly hazed golden color. Taste is lager with subtle hop and wheat. Thin on the body. Refreshing and enjoyable but someone needs too tell Mr. President, there are a lot better beers out there..

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice cloudy golden body with a thin white head, this wheat has a clean yet more fulsome body, bit of lemon zest and banana, than many. Very refreshing on a mild day.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours cloudy, pale yellow. Thin white head with good lacing. Aroma is wheat grain and citrus. Flavor is crisp with barley, wheat and a citrus. The citrus is very notable in the after taste. A very light and refreshing beer. A good cook out beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Iím kind of surprised the ratings are so low on this. Iím not a big fan of wheat ales by any means but this one seemed to have a few things going for it that others in they style have failed for me. For one thing the pour was nice with a large white head that actually lasted for once, nice lacing on the glass. The aroma while light of hay and straw also provided a slight fruity sweetness that was inviting. The taste is light and crisp in the mouth with yeast and wheat combining for a light doughy taste, really it was almost pastry-like due to the subtle fruity sweetness this beer provides. Lastly, the bitch actually had some hops to speak of and left you with a decent finish considering the style. Very well blanced in my opinion between the wheat and yeast you would expect, as well as a touch of fruit and hops. Not bad and very refreshing to boot. This one is underrated if you ask me.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
transparent yellow beer that is overly carbíd. aroma is practically nil, very neutral with a touch of malt sweetness. flavor is along the same lines and lacking in complexities. refreshing or thirst quenching are not valid defenses for this beer in my eyes.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A lightlly hazed blonde with a thick white head. In aroma, a lightly chalky malt, grainy, wheaty with light berry notes. In mouth, a fresh grainy ale with light berries, light and refreshing. On tap at Clybourn, May 17 2009.
