1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
A skunky smelling beer that looks like piss yellow. Not very flavorful and a low palate. Overall Iíd say if you want a good wheat ale take Blue moon over this crap.

Had this from the tap. Delicously fruity, sweet, with hints of citrus. Slightly bitter and easy drinking.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A pretty unpleasant attempt at American Wheat. LIghtly clouded yellow color, fair head. Aroma lemony, very slightly floral. Flavor also lemony, a rising of too much hops in the finish. Some vaguely minty wheat malt, but mainly a weird bitter cooked zucchini-asparagus bread-dough character.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2006 Available on tap from Goose Island (Wrigleyville), Chicago, IL. Hazy golden yellow hued wheat ale with no discernable head. No discernable aroma or carbonation. Light bodied ale that starts with lightly sweet malt with citrus flavor and slight oxidation off-flavor of cooked vegetable (mushroom?). Short bland finish. No discernable hop contribution. A rather mediocre beer. Sampled during lunch at Goose Island. UPDATE: (02.18.06) Sampled at FebFest í06, Libertyville, IL. Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle. Pours hazy straw-colored with small white head. Smoky, spicy nose. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with light malt sweetness and smoky, honey flavors. Finishes with light malt fade. A decent, drinkable wheat beer, but not one of Goose Islandís better beers. Rating remains the same.

I have been a fan of Goose Island Beers for over 2 years so naturally I bought this without question, needless to say I was shocked. Disappointing, This beer lacks flavor. The Color of this beer is a Deep Yellow color (Cloudy from being unfiltered), The Aroma is pretty tame, nothing harsh, no real characteristics, the one quality the beer has is that it leaves no aftertaste, but the negative side to that is that it also leaves no taste while drinking it. I drank 3 bottles trying it at different temperatures from at the point just before freezing, at roughly 45į, and also at about 60į None of which changed the flavor only changed the film it left when drinking. This brewig company is still one of my favorites, just not this beer.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with OhioDad, thanks Scott!) Best when consumed by 20-Feb-06. One of my least favorite beer styles, and this American Wheat from Goose Island lives up to my expectation of mediocre beer. Minimally sweet, only lightly hoppy or bitter, and with a non-descript wheat maltiness, this beer mostly just tastes like cardboard, which I find a little surprising. A very slight fruitiness hides far in the background. The nose is papery and dry. Light bodied, but not watery, and carbonation is fine. Medium straw, somewhat hazy, and capped initially by a good inch of white, rocky head before it settles to a filmy layer. A few small patches of lace remain behind on the glass. Not only is this a boring, lightly flavored beer, but you know youíre in trouble when cardboard is seemingly the most prominent of the flavors.

A pleasant wheat to drink. Not overbearing with the sour mash taste that the stronger wheats get into. At least a two bottle buy.
