Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

I put this side by side with the summertime ale. More substance, visible upon the pour and on the nose. I am not a wheat fan, but I find this brew pleasant and a good representative of the style.

Pours a hazy, typical AW, nothing special, decent head. Aroma is mostly cascades, unusual for this style, and in my opinion, a big improvement to the style. Flaor is similarly familiar with a twist. Ultimately , this comes across as an APA made with wheat rather than barley, which puts it well ahead of most in this usually flavorless style.

4/1/07: Bottle.
Xtra pale, hazy, lemon body with a white rim of carbonation. Hoppy, tea-like nose with hints of lemon. Flavor is similar to drinking an iced tea. Would be very refreshing for a hot summer day. Bring on the 90į temps! Crisp finish.

Very weak aroma, hazy dark yellow with a very small head. The appearance is not cloudy enough for a wheat ale in my opinion, and the body and finish are weak.

Draft Paulieís Bar and Grille-A cloudy orange with no head. Aroma of orange and it had a taste of orange and a bit of coriander. Another typical American Wheat. I was expecting more from Goose on this one.

Nice beer, very drinkable. Was a little too clear for a wheat beer, would have preferred more cloudiness. Also, and maybe because of the clarity, the color was a bit off. A little more orange and less yellow would be preferable. Very drinkable, and much more enjoyable than domestic light beers, regardless of what anybody says in these posts. Seems this beer is an answer to Bellís Oberon and/or Winter Wheat. From what I understand, Bellís doesnít allow (or restricts...and maybe this has all changed since I read the article) distribution into Chicago because the distributors there tend to corrupt the beer. Not a place for a plug for Bells I admit, but I respect the brewers at Bells for caring about the quality of their beer all the way to the consumer. This beer, different enough from the Bells offerings, gives the good people of Chicago a nice alternative.

I think I strained a nostral trying to pull some aroma off this beer. What element of fragrance it does possess is like that of a stale and flavorless orange. If one were to match the flavor you merely need to mix 2 parts Sunny-D with 1 part carbonated water. The palate is sticky and stale. There is an aftertaste similar to that which one would receive from eating a pound of the off-white portion of an orange rind. If I owned a goose, I would rub its nose (or bill) in this beer while saying "come on, Goose, youíre better than this".

On tap at Ginoís. Flavor was crisp and somewhat refreshing, but not complex or very flavorful at all. Flavor and aroma were heavy on the wheat; in fact thats all I really tasted. Did not pick up on any hops or spice. Body was not very creamy. Just ok, but not bad

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2007 Draft. Very wheaty smell, same with the taste. Not much other flavor. Kind of tastes like miller high life. Cascade hops were unnoticable.

Good pour, smooth taste. A decent wheat, but unimpressive. Probably the best widely available, but the taste seems to have mellowed now that Goose Island is giving it wider distribution.
