COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

Goose island 312 Urban Wheat ale. This beer is a golden hazy straw yellow brew with a very slight white head made up of small bubbles. The nose is faint of wheat, malted grains and just a slight amount of hops. The body is fluid and slightly lively. The taste is a good deal more malt than you usually find in wheat beers with the typical wheat character of mild good sour almost completely absent. A decent beer for typical drinking. about one step up from a run of the mill macro lager.

It is clean, bready/yeasty, predictable. It pours yellow. I would not kick it to the curb but it may bore me enough to only drink this on Mondays.

Bottle from The Beer Cellar October 2013. Hazy yellow colour with a modest amount of foam. Aroma is also modest with some grain coming through. The flavour is a bit above average and all round this is not a bad beer.

Had this at the Great Arkansas Beer Festival 2014. Pours a hazy yellow with some white head. Some wheat on the aroma. Flavor is almost non-existent. Very dull beer.

Bottle from Tesco. Poured a hazy yellow, with a thin halo of white head. Aroma of bread, wheat and very light lemon zest. Yeasty flavours, with some lemongrass and apricots. Finish was very light; some grass and grain.

It has a very light hazy straw yellow color with some fine yeast sediment in suspension. There is a little visible carbonation as well that helps support it nice foamy white head. The head hangs on well and makes a few cool lace rings near the top of the glass. Smell: The aroma is light and has a simple clean bready/yeast character. Taste/Palate: There is a light clean bready/biscuit like malt base with a very light hop bitterness. The finish is snappy and the light body and texture are refreshing.

16oz can displaying proud images of Chicago, but the fine print says it was brewed and canned in NY and Colorado, not sure how it was brewed and canned in both. Brewed in one, canned in the other? Can half filled and sent to the other plant? Either way dated mar 30 of this year. Consumed straight from the can, so canít comment on the appearance. Taste is crisp and has an almost juicy red apple taste. Sort of a creamy texture. Overall, not bad. I remember liking the stuff way back when it was tap only, stopped drinking it when I moved to IPAs, and really never looked back. Either way, this is a decent beer. Iíll drink it if the alternative is BMC.

Bottle sample at a tasting at work. Clear gold, white head. Floral, some citrus peel. Slightly tarty, fruity with delicate bitterness. Light body, plastic aftertaste. Mediocre.
