Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Bottled; Nose is wheat ,lemon grass, spice , yeast. Hazy golden/yeasty beer. Wheaty sweet/rich palate, tart spicy dry finish; This American wheat beer is as good as many German equivalents .

April 27, 2013 - Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat is going places thanks to it’s new corporate backing and heavy marketing pushes. One of the vanguards of this brewery’s march across the country is their wheat, which like many others, is an approachable, cool and quenching beer, though the flavor lacks anything exciting or pronounced. The nose fares somewhat better, where wafts of light honey and white wine provide a nice perfume. The flavor is a regular old wheal ale, thin and a little blander than the average, and in a way that produces an active dislike.

Quality microbrew and a pleasant surprise on board United; too hoppy for my own hedonistic tastes of course, but it’s a fairly complex and layered beer for a 4.2% abv/for this style. Not a bad intro to the hipster-ish US scene :)

Little to differentiate this from countless other beers (just the barest hint of wheat). Best feature is it’s low alcohol content - not that I’d be tempted to have another.

Pours a cloudy gold color with great lacing. Has poor head retention though. Tastes of hay and wheat. A good beer, but nothing memorable.

on tap at Cavanaugh’s at 19th & Sansom - not all that good. I’ve been hearing a lot about Goose Island lately and expected more.
