COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

Aroma is floral hops. Flavor is similar, with some citrus fruit. Not much to this beer but not bad for drinking for refreshment.

Ar: Lemon and belgian yeast Ap: Slightly hazy pale gold - weak fizzy head that quickly diminishes T: Slightly sour due to lemon, wheat comes through - light and refreshing P: Lively carbonation and thin body - again, refreshing O: Nice beer to have on a hot Chicago summer day

Bottle 355ml at Beer2000. Hazy pale yellow with small white head. Faint aroma of wheat, bread. Taste is light sweet, light bitter. Light to medium body, thin, soft carbonation. Disappointed.

Aroma: at first it was citrusy and wheaty, but later became rancid (not skunky, but some other sour smell). Appearance: cloudy straw, with a large head that lasts a couple minutes. The flavor is unexceptional, and is very bland. Not much hop, malt, wheat, or yeast flavor. None of the fruity tastes that a good wheat beer gives you. The palate was likewise thin and watery. This is a sub-standard wheat beer, and I would recomment Boulevardís instead if you are looking for a good wheat beer made here in the midwest.

Never been a fan of the style, they always taste amd smell like sweat to me. Not too bad, and more than once it has been the best option at a 7-11 or dive bar. Local pride is the main reason to drink this. I prefer the barley when I am drinking lighter stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2007 Poured from a 12oz bottle, the color is golen wheat. Very cloudy, but in this brew the haziness enhances the color. Sweet aromas on this one. Lemongrass, apples, pears, with some maltiness. This beer is pretty thin and light bodied. While the mouth is fairly creamy, the finish is somewhat soft and weak.

Honey yellow color with no head. Aroma is wheaty with a bit of hops and lemon. Mouthfeel is very creamy, much more so than I anticipated. Semi-spicy wheat flavors abound. Solid but unspectular ale from a great brewery.

This was my firsting whack at a Goose Island product. Hopefully the rest of their line will turn out to be better than this one. Not a bad tasting beer but really no outstanding qualiities. Pretty much an average wheat, definitely not worth the premium price you pay for it.
