Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Bottle from Foods Plus Plaistow NH. Aroma is faintly yeasty. Appearance is pale gold and hazy. It produced no head. Like the aroma, the taste is faint and slightly sweet--mainly as a finish. Light to medium body that is basically flat like day-old beer until burst of lively carbonation at the end. There’s nothing offensive about this beer but there is nothing to recommend it. It would probably go down smooth on a hot summer day and would be easy to have more than one.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2007 Poured from a 12oz bottle, the color is golen wheat. Very cloudy, but in this brew the haziness enhances the color. Sweet aromas on this one. Lemongrass, apples, pears, with some maltiness. This beer is pretty thin and light bodied. While the mouth is fairly creamy, the finish is somewhat soft and weak.

Honey yellow color with no head. Aroma is wheaty with a bit of hops and lemon. Mouthfeel is very creamy, much more so than I anticipated. Semi-spicy wheat flavors abound. Solid but unspectular ale from a great brewery.

Average beer weak taste over all. still far better then a normal commercial American beer such as Bud or Miller. Golden in color decent balance, weak head that leaves early on.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden with moderate white head. Nice unfiltered US wheat beer. Lightly hopped with hints of lemon & orange. Nice, refreshing.

Pours a cloudy gold color with great lacing. Has poor head retention though. Tastes of hay and wheat. A good beer, but nothing memorable.

This was a very disappointing outing from Goose Island. Had on tap. Yellow color with little head. Pretty watery with little flavor.

Pours a straw color with a small, frothy head. Aromas are bready with some sour mash notes underneath. Flavor is about the same. Tastes the same as it smells.

Tap. Cloudy pale yellow color. Foamy white head. Aroma of wheat and coriander, and wintergreen. Flavors matched, with zesty lemon notes and a slight bitter tone on the finish.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2006 weak in flavor. not a pleasant after taste. I think this is the only Goose Island I have never not been happy with.
