COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

An ok effort. Just letting it sit for a few minutes and warm up made it much worse. All of a sudden got a little woddy flavor to it and then dissipated. For Goose Island, Iím let down.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly. Thin aroma, faint yeast. Thin body, average wheat taste. Overall, not a bad beer, good for a hot day, but there are better ones out there.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2008 For a beer that claims to be so meticulously brewed, including being unfiltered, this is quite pedestrian.

Bottled. The body had the color of an unfiltered apple cider. Medium-lasting off-white head. Mild aroma of tangy wheat with a little yeast. Flavor was similiar. Overall, just slightly better than your average ho-hum American wheat.

Come on, this was not cloudy, nor did I detect Cascade hops. I must have had a different 312.

drainey (234) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2006
Slightly cloudy yellow body with a thick white head. Aroma has some hops, citrus and a grassy smell. Flavor is mostly absent, but hints at some citrus and wheat. Palate is watery. When Goose Island has the chops to make beers as good as the Bourbon County Stout or the Imperial IPA, I donít know why they waste their time on this one. Not a very impressive beer.

FishBizkit (234) - Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Tall glass, cloudy yellow with two fingers of head. Looks really nice. Banana bread smell, blunt, little bit of lemon. Watery taste, lemon bitterness. A fair amount of carbonation, medium body and crisp. Looked great, the taste was a letdown, which makes it fairly average for a wheat. -Fish!

floydslip (232) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 10, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 Murky straw-colored beer with a lot of effervescence that produces a fizzy white head. Smells faintly of spice, bananas, and a little citrus. Taste is a little bitter up front, which develops into a slight sour spiciness, but overall the flavor profile is quite bland. It has a vibrant, bubbly mouth feel, which is good for this style, but thatís not enough to save this beer from mediocrity. Underwhelming. EDIT: I squeezed a lemon into the next glass I drank, and that improved things a bit. But this is still a pretty bland beer.

Very much a summer session beer. Has light piney aroma with lemony notes. Taste is both citrusy and bready but very light. Thin in body. Nice malt flavors in finish. No much tartness from the wheat.
