Bottle. Pours medium hazy yellow with a thin, quickly fading head. Aroma is wheat but also slightly off tasting. Slight hint of lemon. Flavour is slightly sweet but if fairly mild. Body is thin and watery with moderate carbonation. Disappointing.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Corner Pub.
Appearance - Hazy golden color. Generous foamy white head. Good retention. Decent lacing.
Aroma - Not much on the nose. Just some wheat and grass.
Taste - Clean wheat flavor. Some lemony zest and light grassy hops add a touch of bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Clean & crisp. Dry. Soft carbonation.
Overall - Itís enjoyable. Iíd have it again if I were in the mood for a simple wheat beer.

Goose Island brews some highly acclaimed and sought-after beers. That said, many people believe that theyíve taken a sharp decline in overall quality since being acquired by AB-InBev in 2011, and their mainstream beers are the ones thought of to have taken the largest hit. Honestly, I havenít had many Goose Island beers; Iím pretty sure Iíve had their IPA and their Honkers Ale, but thatís about it. Iím not sure what exactly makes their 312 an ďurbanĒ wheat ale, but Iím interested to see what itís all about.
The beer pours a slightly hazy light gold-to-straw with a bright white fizzy head and dissipates fairly quickly. The glass I used does not have a nucleation point, but there was still a steady stream of bubbles coming up from the bottom. (The glass shouldíve been clean, but who knows.)
312 has a faint sweet smell that has notes of grass, biscuit, and honey. There are some faint citrus notes, primarily lemon and orange, with absolutely no apparent bitterness. At the end there is a faint soapy note.
Goose Islandís Urban Wheat is definitely light. The taste is definitely that of an American style wheat beer, with bread and biscuit being accompanied by honey sweetness, some lemon citrus. In the finish there is a bit of astringency that comes off similar to a mild dish soap.
312 is slick, but drinkable. The carbonation dies down after a few minutes, and the mouthfeel is light-to-medium. It isnít remarkable, so I wonít waste too much time.
Goose Islandís 312 Urban Wheat beer is mild, drinkable, and ultimately forgettable. While Iíll admit that it does have some interesting qualities, especially the light honey notes that are presented throughout the nose and palate, it isnít a beer that jumps out as anything I would bend over backwards to buy.

On tap. Tastes slightly spicey, a little like coriander, yeasty, and a sligfht touch of citrus. Some lacing on the glass, pours a clear yellow. One of the better wheat beers I’ve had from the United States.

Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a hazy blonde color with good head and lacing. Aroma was sweet, malty but light. Taste was similar, this was a crisp, fresh wheat ale. Good summer brew.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour: Cloudy pale yellow with a thin white head.
Nose: wheat orange lemon malt grass
Taste: Slightly hoppy hints of wheat and lemon.
Finish: Hoppy on the front a bit coarse through the end.
Overall: it is an okay beer Goose Island has made better beer than this. It has a nice flavor that is thin and unrefined.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Slightly hazy yellow brew with the smell of lemon. Other than the lemon zest there doesnít seem to be much else going for this one. Pretty boring brew with nothing really making me want to purchase more. Glad I got a sampler bottle rather than a whole six pack.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 Draught from The Pub poured into shaker with a lemon garnish - Pours clear gold with a very minimal head; Lemon and wheat to the nose; Lemon, wheat and a hint of pine hops on the initial taste; A bland wheat backtaste; Medium watery palate; Too much carbonation; Not impressed. Goose Island is normally spot on with their brews, but this one leaves a good bit to be desired. Lots of the lemon probably came from the garnish.
