Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Smell of LME and light melon fruitiness. Bland and slightly bready flavor. Some light lemon is all I get. Clear yellow and fizzy.

Hazy, pale hay with a small, but retentive white head. The aroma is nothing spectacular with all elements being rather subdued. Banana, clove, yeasty esters, citrus fruit and lactic acid all make an appearance without much contribution from any hops. The light and airy mouthfeel definitely screams of summer beer that goes down without making any impact. The flavors are also light and bland, just like the aroma. While I said in my rating of the Willow Street Wheat that I thought it was a close match to Oberon, all signs point to this being the actual market competitor. It’s just too damn boring to be something I would ever buy again. I would rather see them scrap this one and bottle the Willow St. Wheat. Actually, perhaps something to compete with Victory Whirlwind and just forget about Oberon...

Pilsnery color, light golden, hazy. Not much carbonation. Fuzzy mouthfeel. Light hoppiness. Malt apparent. Fairly unimpressive.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2005 tap-old chicago-rockford, IL-pours cloudy yellow with a decent white head-aroma was yeasty, wheaty, and grainy. flavors are slighty hoppy and grainy, but quite refreshing i thought. Not as bad as others say it is. This would be a good refresher on a hot NM day!

on draft some deep dish place: asked the bartender what the 312 was...smart ass told me it was the area code...didnt really care about that wanted to know what kind of a beer it was/is....in my opinion a light summer wheat beer. pours golden clear with fizzy white mushy top. no real nose just some suttle wheat/yeast dampness. not a great beer in the mouth . very weak and bland...pushed into almost a pils flavor. slight lemon back in the mix...gritty and not enjoyable to drink. my friend sent it back.......the other goose islands are much better.

Thanks again to my secret santa for another new beer. He did only send me 24 of them. Rather attractive hazy yellow color with a thin head. Aroma is like fresh hay, yeast and lemon. Flavor is pretty enjoyable, and very drinkable. This has a nice light wheat and lemon taste and a somewhat sticky malt backing. The palate is pretty boring though. Seems like lemonade until the very end where the malt actually shows up for the party.

Poured a nice hazy gold colr with a tight golden head and some fizzy bubbles in it’s own weizen style glass. A small yeasty nose. Fairly bland wheat flavor, but really decent mouthfeel. Not bad, but not great. Worth trying if your in the mood for a wheat.

Light fruity aroma with some hops is noticible. The color is a very pale yellow with a small white head. Slight citrusy and hoppish taste accompanied by a light finish.
