Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

Smell of LME and light melon fruitiness. Bland and slightly bready flavor. Some light lemon is all I get. Clear yellow and fizzy.

Hazy, pale hay with a small, but retentive white head. The aroma is nothing spectacular with all elements being rather subdued. Banana, clove, yeasty esters, citrus fruit and lactic acid all make an appearance without much contribution from any hops. The light and airy mouthfeel definitely screams of summer beer that goes down without making any impact. The flavors are also light and bland, just like the aroma. While I said in my rating of the Willow Street Wheat that I thought it was a close match to Oberon, all signs point to this being the actual market competitor. Itís just too damn boring to be something I would ever buy again. I would rather see them scrap this one and bottle the Willow St. Wheat. Actually, perhaps something to compete with Victory Whirlwind and just forget about Oberon...

Pilsnery color, light golden, hazy. Not much carbonation. Fuzzy mouthfeel. Light hoppiness. Malt apparent. Fairly unimpressive.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2005 tap-old chicago-rockford, IL-pours cloudy yellow with a decent white head-aroma was yeasty, wheaty, and grainy. flavors are slighty hoppy and grainy, but quite refreshing i thought. Not as bad as others say it is. This would be a good refresher on a hot NM day!

Cloudy golden color with a small but sustained white head. Wheat and some citrus notes in the aroma. Creamy wheat mouthfeel and flavor. Not great but does the job on a warm day.

Bottle. Poured a golden that was barely hazy with a thin white head, very pale. A mild citric fruit aroma with some sweetness. A pretty tart flavor but lacking the richness of a usual wheat. Had a clean, crisp finish. A bit bland.

Bottle. Light sweet apple, banana and wheat aroma. Hazy orange-yellow color with small head. Lemon wheat flavor. Nothing special - an average Am wheat.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 Draught from The Pub poured into shaker with a lemon garnish - Pours clear gold with a very minimal head; Lemon and wheat to the nose; Lemon, wheat and a hint of pine hops on the initial taste; A bland wheat backtaste; Medium watery palate; Too much carbonation; Not impressed. Goose Island is normally spot on with their brews, but this one leaves a good bit to be desired. Lots of the lemon probably came from the garnish.

Bottle at Pier 32 in Hamilton, IN. Marked best when consumed by 022107. Poured a very small off-white head that quickly dissipated, sparse lacing, visible carbonation, slightly cloudy, and a yellow hue. Nose was sweet, wheat, spicy, hops, fruity, and crisp. Flavor was sweet, thin, wheat, spicy, some maltiness, and a little bit fruity. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and a bit thin. Light body. A so-so brew.

Bottle. Pours cloudy-clear yellow with lively carbonation. Hoppy and grassy on the nose. Tastes of flat grass with faint lemon and green vegetables thrown in a blender and pureed. Watery mouthfeel, but not too watery. Average at best.
