COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

A very, very bland Summer Wheat, which really surprised me when I started to notice how hard they have been promoting this. They have a new tapper just for this beer in the shape of a telephone (312 is an old Chicago area code). Light all around, golden yellow and quite bubbly. Grassy nose. Malts are sweet but thin. watery. Grainy and dry at the finish.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2005 A bit too acidic for an American wheat, sofaras Iím concerned. Nice look, with a tall frothy head. (Itís probably why they serve it in a pils glass at the pub.) Quite carbonated. Mainly lemon and banana come across in the flavor. Clean... pretty much of a "wet" finish.

Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Very watery with some lemon flavor. Sour finish.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is nice and zesty lemon with a touch of hop. Flavor is rather bland though with a touch of lemon and cream. Canít really recommed it but canít hate it either. East to drink on a hot humid night.

Cloudy golden color, dry and flat tasting, watery. Finish is thin and dry. I expected more.

Slightly cloudy yellow body with a thick white head. Aroma has some hops, citrus and a grassy smell. Flavor is mostly absent, but hints at some citrus and wheat. Palate is watery. When Goose Island has the chops to make beers as good as the Bourbon County Stout or the Imperial IPA, I donít know why they waste their time on this one. Not a very impressive beer.

Had at the brewpub. Yellow color with a lot of carbonation. Thick foamy head. No real discernable taste. It was very smooth, but it might as well ahve been water.

When I was at Goose Island, this was called Urban Wheat. Yellow. Highly carbonated with a thick foamy head. No taste. Very smooth. Might as well drink water.

Bottle. Pours cloudy neon yellow with thin white head. The aroma is grainy with some zest and hay. The flavor is rather bland, almost like yeasty water. There are som zesty notes in there and some distant hops in the finish. Not very exciting.

Kind of weak, not so flavorful, not much better than ordinary. Itís refreshing, but itís not nearly as good as other Goose Island beers (like Hex Nut Brown Ale). Iím not even sure why they brew this.
