COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

220z bomber. Hazy orange-yellow color. Subdued aroma, a little sweet wheat and malt. The taste is solid, not unlike a Bavarian Hefe, but without the banana yeast characteristics. Some light lemony tang. Excellent full mouthfeel, while still relatively light on the palate. Crisply balanced by the hops, this is quite refreshing and easy drinking.

12 oz bottle. Dull orange color, off white head, great lacing. Aroma of black pepper and orange rind. Taste is citrus, malt, light spice, and the barest hint of burnt embers. Interesting.

12 ounce bottle from thetomG in Secret Santa Winter 10. Thanks! Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention and sticky lacing. Aroma of bread, citrus, stone fruits and a bitter finish. The taste is bitter citrus notes, some tropical notes as well, wheat, bread, an almost crackery note. Nutty finish. Thin-medium bodied. Solidly made and would probably be very nice to session during the summer.

Tried this beer at the Casanova Beer Cave Festival (2011), thought it had a nice taste.

Very nice. Surprising flavours. This is far less sweet and bubblegum than something like Hoegaarden. 312 tastes much more like a beer, it has some bitterness, a deeper malt behind the citrus. Also has lots of very small bubbles so gives a very smooth and velvety experience.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 I am a big fan of heffewiezen so I was initially disappointed with this beer. By the time I got to the end of the six pack however I changed my mind and my rating. Good smooth refreshing wheat beer.

Bottle. Straw yellow and cloudy with a steady white head. Lovely hoppy aroma with spices and wheat. Flavourwise itís really crisp and light but imparts a fair bit of flavour. Thereís a wheaty body with dashes of grape, grapefruit, honey and floral notes. Light and breezy and would straddle well between the lager drinkers and the real ale suppers.

Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat has a thick, rumply head and a very bubbly, hazy, yellow-golden appearance, with thick lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of stinging white bread, a touch of lemon, and a lot of tap water. Flavor is of the same, with a subdued bitterness, underneath. Mouthfeel is soft and medium, and Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat finishes dry, refreshing, and very drinkable. Overall, this is a good beer. RJT
