COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, itís a beer thatís densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We donít filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thatís how you know itís unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Itís not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youíd expect.

Nice beer, very drinkable. Was a little too clear for a wheat beer, would have preferred more cloudiness. Also, and maybe because of the clarity, the color was a bit off. A little more orange and less yellow would be preferable. Very drinkable, and much more enjoyable than domestic light beers, regardless of what anybody says in these posts. Seems this beer is an answer to Bellís Oberon and/or Winter Wheat. From what I understand, Bellís doesnít allow (or restricts...and maybe this has all changed since I read the article) distribution into Chicago because the distributors there tend to corrupt the beer. Not a place for a plug for Bells I admit, but I respect the brewers at Bells for caring about the quality of their beer all the way to the consumer. This beer, different enough from the Bells offerings, gives the good people of Chicago a nice alternative.

Tap at Pub 819 in a pint glass. Hard to believe I havenít rated this one yet. Probably my first "favorite" beer. Aroma of faint banana and wheat. Minimal aroma. Lacing is good but not much along the lines of head. Taste is very grain-centric. Plenty of wheat and cereal elements. Soft fruit presence of lemon and banana. Easy to drink and refreshing. Thin palette. Aftertaste is mostly grainy. Nostalgically I enjoy this effort but itís not really all that good. In the wheat ale category, itís decent.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy straw with short lasting white head. Lemon and lime, candy, sweet biscuits, pretzels, light herbal hoppy finish. Medium bodied with creamy feel. Very sessionable and still tasty beer.

Slightly hazy warm golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, straw. Sweet malty flavour. Sweet finish. Quite boring really. Pitty, was looking forward to this one, I love a good American wheat ale.

Yellow coloured brew with an OK head. A bit simple and uninteresting but not bad at all.

Great session beer. Delicious beer for a hot sunny day. 312 does not lack on flavor.

Bottle in Chicago

Good looking pour, elegant like a good pilsner. Mellow flavors, neither a lot of hop character nor a lot of the esters. Entirely drinkable but not a lot of character.

Bottle. Golden yellow color. Aroma of grain and malt. Taste of sweat wheat, orange, fruity banana yeast and a slight funky sourness. Boring and simple beer.

Lichtgeel, ietwat troebel bier. Geur van brood is wat opvalt. De smaak is wat vlak, weinig diepte, in de nasmaak komt weer de smaak van brood terug. Fris biertje, maar weinig smaak.

Aroma of wheat, bread, spicy notes, trace of hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light bitter finish. A bit unremarkable, but easy and drinkable.
