Commercial Description:
Like the digits suggest, it's a beer that's densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don't filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

From tap in a local Chicago bar. Off aroma but ok wheatbear taste. Not my favourite style and this one is drinkable.

Bottle: Pours a pale straw color with a large white head. Not much aroma present, faint notes of wheat and malt. The flavor is a sweet malt base with light wheat notes and a little floral hoppiness in the tail. A tame crispness in the finish. Rather mild, yet good.

Pours out golden with a little bit of suspended sediment. Small, white head. Aroma is pretty light, with wheat notes. Taste is the same. Pretty weak, but wheat flavored.

Light yellow, white head. Wheaty, spice aroma. Taste is more spiciness, sourish wheat, fruity.

Draught at the White Horse American Beer Festival, July 2009. Pale gold. Maybe a hint of yeast but not really very much going on. Easygoing and straightforward with no great character. Sweetish. May have shown better on its own rather than surrounded by a bunch of much bigger US beers. Not really a very inspired choice to bring over for a US festival but I guess they needed something for the normal Sloaney Pony punters.

Draught @ Fire Rock Grille in Des Moines:   Pale straw, faint haze, fairly clear otherwise, thin white sudsy head, dies quickly leaving sparce lacing.   Carbonation seems nil.   Weak straw and grass nose.   Wheat aspect is faint.   I was told this was a light wheat ale?   Sure seems that way.   Rather grassy on the tongue but also wheaty.   Faint mealiness, but its not bad.   Seems like a watered down American Wheat, which probably what they were going for.   Not bad, good on a hot day.   Problem being its not hot, but may 28F.   Anyways, a little corny on the backside, in addition to the straw and grass.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Certainly not like a regular wheat.   Meh...

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. It pours a hazy yellow with little head and some lacing. The taste is musty yeasty wheat and sour spicy hops. Not very good.

12oz - Cloudy straw color, no head but some lace. Orange and bread dough on nose. Doughy yeast is the main flavor, but overall this is very mild. Not bad, just unimpressive.

Bottled. Poured a faintly cloudy yellow with a very small fizzy head. Sort of like a bland wheat with a very clean finish. Sessionable. if you’re into that kin of thing.
