COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Wild Ale. Amara, meaning ‘sour’ in Latin, is a wild ale fermented with Brettanomyces bruxellensis and Brettanomyces lambicus in wine barrels. The Brettanomyces notes of this beer are balanced more towards the lambicus flavors with the intense horse blanket and leathery characters that you expect out of a Lambic.

On tap, pours a hazy gold with a thin white head, the aroma has quite a bit of funk but has a nice citrus and fruit touch as well, the flavor starts off with some wine tannins and some funk in the middle, the brett shows in the finish with a dryness, still has a good amount of fruit in it though, tasty.

On tap at GTMW - Pours hazy rose with a thin tan head. Pretty bretty nose, sour with citrus Smarties. Taste is pretty vinegary, with berries, light funk and a real acidic, drying finish. Thin and slick, well-carbonated.

8/11/12. GTMW. Medium golden pour with a nice khaki head. Nice funky/horsey/bretty aspects in the aroma with some sweetness and tropical fruits. More of that slightly tart funkiness in the flavor with some fruitiness and sugary sweetness. Pretty tasty!

FoBAB 9. Hazy red-amber, light cream ring with wispy head. Milky nose shows lightest mango and pineapple, brighter than expected, bugs from wood I’d guess, also a bit of buttery oak. Lightly harsh flavor bit stinging in the clash of lactic and yeast, rubbery and eggy through the stinging carbonation of the finish, the milky notes, butter, and brett fighting too much. Harsh, odd grape juice finish. I like the elements but definitely too much war here.

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured a hazy golden amber with an off-white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of funk with some sour stone fruits and an oak backing. Flavor had a good amount of acid with some dry wine notes and a bit of sour red fruits.

pours a medium gold, murky, nice tan head... nice nose that had a touch to much brett for me, nice tropical fruit notes almost balance it... the taste again is bretty but musky, a brett lambic, worth having

Rating #1750. That’s gotta be something right. Sampled at FOBAB 2010 on November 6. This was probably my favorite all day. Next to or maybe surpassing blackberry love from New Belgium. Slight haze orange with a tall beige head. Lots of lambic Brett in that nose. Some oranges and hay. Tart acidic city. Lots of acid but balanced and awesome. Good stuff, I wish I would have had more. 8/4/8/5/16

at FOBAB. pours clear gold with white head. nose was nice and sour, vinegar, honey, and funky. flavors are vinegar, acidic, some honeydew and grapefruit peel. really nice, one of goose’s better sours for sure.

Sampled at FoBAB 2010. Aroma of brett, citrus, a very apparent tartness, some bread. Flavor is sour, with a touch of sweetness and sweet bread. Nice, earthy funk, with citrus and white wine. Nice sourness in the finish. Pretty great.

Tasted on draft at FoBAB 2010. Pours a clear brass color with an average white head that leaves a good amount of lace behind. The nose is strong barnyard funk with some bread malt and yeast along with hints of citrus and vinegar. The flavor is once again strongly dominated by the brett, is very tart with some lemon and good amount of yeasty bread. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long brett finish.
